Chapter 6: Finding My True Self

Hey yo there! ^^ I updated after a week or so, since there's a lot of schoolworks.. Presentations, hws, and stuff. Anyways, I don't know if you have noticed but.. the picture I used here is the same to my profile picture. :3 Just sayin'.

Mei's POV

Yes, I'm a vampire. Not the ones that you think it is. Not like in the movies, the blood sucking ones who can't live without consuming human blood. But saying that, we still need blood to survive, even though it's a bit. We look and live like humans.. a bit differently.

We can eat and taste human food. When we're in 20s I guess, we age slower than humans. I know what you're thinking, why does my grandfather look old. Well, it's a simple question.. he isn't like me nor my father. My father became one since stuff happened when he was younger. Well, I don't really remember what happened since he told that to me when I was a small child.

I don't have that much knowledge of me being a vampire. My father also has limited knowledge of it, too. Though I can sense the presence of other vampires. I sensed a presence of one at school. I didn't get to her since I had work to do at the student council. I was very busy. I might try looking for her tomorrow.

At lunch..

Good thing there were few works that needed to be done at the student council. Better get my personal mission done.

I checked every hall and classroom but there was no one.. I guess I have to go to the cafeteria...

I can sense someone.

She's near... she's somewhere here.

I should walk around..

I can feel her.. she's getting nearer!

Where? Where?

Where is the girl? She's so close!

"Hey, Yuzu-senpai!" She said sitting beside Yuzu. Yuzu just said "Hi.. there."

No.. no way.. don't tell me..

No, maybe she's just near Mina-san.

I sense Mina-san.. This can't be! She's a vampire?! Of all people, her?! My senses must be fooling me. I must check further..

Sigh.. looks like I have no choice but to deal with this bitch..

"I-isn't that the Prez?"

"Yeah. I thought she never goes to the cafeteria?"

"Must be a busy work.. looks like she's looking for something.."

Their whispers are loud enough for me to hear. Yuzu stood up and bumped into me accidentally.

"Oh, I'm sorr- A-aihara-san?!"

"...It's fine. I've got to go." I exited the cafeteria going to my grandfather's office. He isn't here because he had some businesses to do somewhere..

"H-hey!" She walked faster. I ignored her because of many reasons. I finally entered the office.

In just a few seconds she arrived too. She closed the door shortening the distance between us. What if someone saw her entering the office. That would make it bad since no one is allowed to enter this room except me and grandfather.

"Woah, looks like you don't have work, huh?" She paused a little while.

"You rarely go outside the student council at lunch.." She said.

"...What do you want?" I said flipping the documents on the desk. Ignoring eye contact.

"Well, you went to the cafeteria which was unusual of you, I'm assuming you were looking for something. What were you looking for?"

"...Nothing important. You may go now." I said as if I was in a hurry which I really was. Since, I need to talk to the "fan" of Yuzu about our kind and of course about her hair.

"Okay, lemme know if you need help, Mei." She looked at her watch and started running.

"Oh shoot! I left Harumin again! See you later, Mei!" The sight of her blonde hair was gone after hearing the door close.

Sigh. Looks like I have to deal with this vampire blonde. I went outside looking for Mina. I can hear the noise of the cafeteria.

"Let's go, Harumin!" Yuzu hurried.

"Yeah!" Harumin followed.

"Bye, Yuzu-senpai, Harumi-senpai!" Mina said. This is my chance. I have to go there before Yuzu sees me. I went closer to the blonde.

"..Excuse me. You're Mina-san right?" I called out to her. Of course, I knew her name because I saw them together. I'm not really a stalker but it just happened.

I can really sense her. I think she also knows I'm like her. I really want to know about vampires. My kind. My abilities. My true self.

"Uh, yes. How did you know my name?" She turned around looking at me. I was staring at her ID she was wearing and her name was written on it. "Nikozawa Mina" We don't wear IDs. Maybe it was for self-introduction at their class that she forgot to remove it?

"..Oh right! Silly me. I wore this for them to know my name. They always mistake me for someone else.."

"..I want to talk to you. Can we have this talk tomorrow at Sakura Cafe on 7 pm?" Her look at me was very strange.

"About what is this talk?" She asked me.

"..We will talk about it tomorrow. See you." I said walking away from the scene. I went to the next class.

Classes are now dismissed. Looks like it's time to go home. But I need to go check on the student council.

"President!" Himeko greeted me as soon as I opened the door.

"..Are there any problems you have faced?" I asked.

"Not really, President. Fwaah." Himeko yawned. I know how you feel.
"..Looks like we have to go. You two can go now, I'll lock the rooms."

"Yes, President." They said simultaneously, and left. I locked the room and went to the other classrooms. It looks very lonely when it's dismissal. Dark and empty. I was also like this before. But when Yuzu entered my life, things have changed, a lot.

I went to our classroom and took my bag, closed the door behind me and went home. I took my notes and read it while walking home. I didn't feel the time passing. I arrived at home and mom was home.

"I'm home."

"Oh, Mei-chan. Where's your sister?"

"She's not home yet?" Looks like she's with Harumi.

"..I'll go take a bath, mom."

"Yes sure. Dinner's taking a while." She said with a smile. Her smile reminds me of Yuzu.

Like mother, like daughter.

Yay, update! I'm sorry I updated later than expected because of school works.. and I'm also sorry if my chapters are getting crappier... I'm not really good at this.. hehe. So if you don't like it then don't read it, I'm not forcing anyone to read my work.. :3
