The Capitol games

Chapter 1

Hi my name is Cora Dawes. I live in the Capitol with my older brother, Jonah, my mom and my dad. The Rebellion has just finished so the whole place is in wrecks. There is dirt, shards and building pieces everywhere. Those stupid Rebels destroyed everything. The Capitol doesn't deserve this just because we treated them "unfairly" doesn't mean you have permission to turn out homes into a dump. The one person I hate the most is Katniss Everdeen aka the mockingjay. She led the rebellion and killed many people just because she wanted a better future. Well guess what we are the Capitol and we will always have the power to end her. Katniss has just killed President Coin AND Snow so now President Paylor is ruling. She has called an announcement that we all have to meet up so she can talk about something. It's about 1:00 when we head down. Allot of the Capitol people are there amongst the rubble of cement and glass. She stands up and smiles a little too cheery. "Hello citizens of the Capitol. The rebellion is over and The Hunger Games are stopping forever, but we will have one final Hunger Games but this time with a twist. Children aged 12-18 from the Capitol will compete in the Hunger Games. The rules are the same and you will get mentors, sponsors and training. This final games is so that you guys can experience the pain of being ripped away from your families and being forced to kill. This also assures that the Hunger Games never start again as you will know how cruel and bad it is. The reaping will commence tomorrow and of course may the odds be ever in your favour." She finishes her speech leaving thousands of shocked people. I can't believe they are doing this. Some people are crying at the chance of losing their lives and families, others look angry and the rest look scared. My hatred for Katniss and the rebels grows ten times more. I'm 15 so I have the possibility of being reaped unlike my brother who just turned 19. We all head back to our houses and grieve. I hug my parents and brother. "I can't believe they are doing this! What if I'm reaped?" I cry to them. "It's ok there are thousands of kids you won't be reaped." They soothe me and hug me tighter. The reaping is tomorrow so I go to bed early. I don't really have a massive appetite. I have a shower and wash my hair. Unlike the other citizens I don't like dying my hair, eyes or skin. People call me plain but I'm happy with my medium blonde hair and blue eyes. I try to sleep but I don't really. I may have gotten around two hours of sleep but that's it. Tomorrow might be the last day with my family. If I get reaped I won't have a big chance of winning but I'm sure of one thing, if I'm reaped I will make Katniss Everdeen pay for doing this.
