Chapter 5

Lanae Pov

I left the house early this morning because I didn't want to talk to Charell. I couldn't even look at her face.

I went to Starbucks and ordered a small Caramel Frappe, and then went to go pick up some doughnuts from Shipley's for the girls.

I made it to the store around 7:30, sat the doughnuts down on the front counter, and went to sit in my office. I needed to think.

When the girls started arriving I put my "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door that I use when I am doing interviews, and layed my head down.

I guess I had ended up dozing off because when I opened my eyes It was 11:00 .

My phone began to vibrate and of course it was Aaliyah.

"Goodmorning Sunshine!", she screamed into the phone.

It made me laugh a little, "Hey hun, What's up?", I replied.

"Nothing much, you ready to ride out ma?", she asked.

"Yea, are you getting ready to leave?", I asked.

"Ready to leave?", she mocked. "Baby girl I'm already outside. Come on out", she said putting a smile on my face.

I hung up the phone, grabbed my purse, and walked out of office. All the girls were pretty busy. When Red seen me she stopped talking her customer and came towards me.

Red Pov

"How you doing, boss lady", I  said with a smirk on my face.

"I'm good, and you?", she  asked.

"Oh, I'm great!",I said. "Look this won't be long but, I need to talk to you.

"Well make it fast, I gotta go", she replied.

"Alright ima put it like this. Me and Char- ", my phone started ringing. I pulled it out of my pocket, and to my surprise it was Charell.

I laughed in her face and answered the call, "Hey baby, I knew you would come to your senses", I said when answering the call.

"Meet me at the Hibachi off of Bissonet St.", said Charell. "I gotta surprise for you ma."

"Perfect timing", I said. "I was just having a conversation with my boss", looking at Lanae's impatient expression.

"What was it that you was about to say Red, I have to go", she said rolling her eyes.

"Oh nevermind it now, I have to leave myself. I'll save it for another time", I said before turning around to walk away.

Lanae Pov

About time Red got out of my face, I thought to myself while walking out the door. She can really be annoying at times.

I spotted out Aaliyah's car as soon as I stepped foot into the parking lot.

"Hey beautiful", she said as I slid into the front seat. I blushed.

"I hope you don't think we're anything more that friends Aaliyah", I said as she was pulling out.

"Of course not!", she said as she winked at me. "Your girl sounded pissed enough last night".

"Shutup Liyah!", I said while hitting her in her arm.

"Girl you Better stop before you kill the both of us!", she cried.

I laughed and watched her as she put some music on. We were at a stop sign so she was taking her sweet time. She went from song to song trying to find a good one, but I made her stop when I heard one of my favorites. Keyshia Cole's I Choose You.

"I tried hating you, but I just love you more, compared him to you but he can't match your score!", I sung out loud.

When the song stopped I looked over at Aaliyah and she was staring at me with a smile on her face.

"What?", I asked smiling, but she didnt say a word. She leaned over, grabbed my face, and began kissing me. It was then that I got the feeling again. What am I doing?
