The electric shocks came to a halt, the blue electricity dissipating as Larry panted with exhaustion and pain. I dared to look over at Dr Lancur and Dr Tan, both of whom were wearing looks of disbelief. Dr Tan's mouth opened and closed several times, trying to word his sentiments but failing. Larry had just spoken in the presence of the doctors thus proving that I was indeed telling the truth. For a brief moment, I felt a sense of pride and triumph, debunking claims that I was lying about Larry's vocalisation and language skills. But sympathy soon dominated as I realised that Larry had placed himself in a difficult situation. As he feared, he now ran the risk of being subjected to interrogations, adding power to their repertoire.

"You............talk........." Dr Tan finally managed to utter the words he had been struggling to produce for the past minute.

"Of course I talk," Larry made the decision not to hide the truth, struggling to stand. "Did you honestly think William was lying?"

Larry regarded the distinguished doctors with disdain and defeat, pulling himself to a shaky standing position. Dr Tan trembled with uncertainty, his fingers scarcely gripping his clipboard. His eyes flickered over to a silent Dr Lancur, desperate for a course of action. Dr Lancur tentatively stepped forward, attempting to maintain a professional demeanour.

"So, our SCPS are keeping secrets now?" Dr Lancur cleared his throat. "Why, this is a most interesting revelation."

"We are not as unaware and unintelligent as the human pestilence," Larry almost sneered. "There are secrets out there too dangerous for humans to know."

"We have the ability to handle the unknown and the lethal," Dr Lancur reassured him. "And do not think our research will not extend to your ability to vocalise your thoughts. You will divulge what we seek."

"And if I refuse to cooperate?" Larry tested the waters.

"Then I'm afraid Dr Tan will have to continue to torture the information from you," Dr Lancur turned to his trembling associate. "What do you think, Dr Tan? Would that be plausible?"

Dr Tan vigorously nodded his head, hugging his clipboard to his chest as if for comfort.

"Y-yes," Dr Tan stuttered, his dark eyes never leaving the SCP. "T-that can b-be arranged."

"Excellent," Dr Lancur mused, a satisfied smirk resting on his face. "I suppose that is sorted."

His eyes momentarily flickered around the containment room before nodding.

"Our plans and investigations shall come to initiation tomorrow," Dr Lancur announced. "In the meantime, Dr Erikson, I advise you tend to SCP 106. It can barely stand after the round of treatment."

"Treatment?!" Larry growled. "Is that what you call it? It serves no purpose but to inflict pain and suffering!"

"It is treatment as it invokes discipline," Dr Lancur no longer was fearful. "The only good SCP is a submissive one. Well behaved and caving in to our orders."

"I don't submit as easy," Larry warned, his fingers wrapping around the bars. "Your desire for submission will not achieved without a fight."

"We'll see about that," Dr Lancur frowned.

He nodded his head to Dr Tan who looked eager to sprint up the stairs.

"Dr Tan, let's go," Dr Lancur ordered and with a flick of his lab coat, the doctors disappeared up the stairs, taking their deadly equipment with them.

Larry slumped against the bars, shuddering. I knelt down, thinking for words to say.

"You don't have to try and comfort me," Larry said as if reading my mind.
