Chapter eight

It's been a month since I left the castle and I don't regret it! It's amazing, I finally feel free! When I moved in with May, it was a little awkward but that soon went away. I love it here and I've got great company.

"What are you thinking about?" May says as she walks to me and sits down in the sofa next to me. I look at her. "Nothing." She smiles at me. "Yeah right." "What? I wasn't thinking of anything." She still smiles at me. I smile back and I start to tickle her suddenly. "No! Stop!" She says while she's laughing. I stop tickling her when the doorbell rings. She stands up and walks to the front door while I put on my wig and glasses. "Officer, is it time for another house search?" "No, but we have to ask if-" "No, I still haven't seen the prince." "Thank you for your collaboration." "You're welcome." She walks to me again. "When are they going to give up? I'm getting annoyed to always have my house searched or answering the same stupid question." "My parents probably gave up a long time ago, it's Will who won't give up." "Well, he should." I stand up and hold her hands in mine. "He will, we just have to be patient." We look in each other's eyes and stay quiet for a while.

Suddenly she looks away and takes her hands out of mine. "Let's go." She says and walks to the garage. I follow her. "Where are we going?" "You'll see when we get there." She says and sits down on her motorcycle. "Okay then as long as you don't take me to the castle." I say and sit behind her on the motorcycle. "Don't worry, you're not getting rid of me yet." I smile at her. "Good."

She stops the motorcycle and parks it. I get off with her and look around. "A lake?" She gets off too. "Yes, a lake." "Why are we here?" She looks at the lake. "My parents used to take me and Drake to here. When they passed away, Drake and I came here to get away from the world. Now that Drake isn't here anymore I come here alone." She looks at me. "And now I got you." I smile at her and take her hand in mine. "Yeah, you got me and I got you."

We walk towards the lake still holding hands and walk next to it. I'm looking at the lake when suddenly May pushes me and I fall in the lake. I look at her and see her laughing. "Very funny." "Sorry, but I had to do that. It was a golden opportunity." I swim to the edge of the lake. "Just help me out." She walks toward me. "Give me your hand." I take her hand and pull it towards me. She falls in the lake and takes her now wet hair out of her face. Now it's my turn to laugh. "This isn't funny!" "So it's funny when I fall in the lake, but when you fall it isn't?" She smiles. "Exactly." I swim to her. I take her hair out of her face. She looks me in the eyes and I look back in hers.

I lean in and I'm surprised to her lean in too. We keep leaning in until our lips are touching and we're kissing. We stop kissing and look at each other. "You have no idea how long I wanted to do that." "No." She says smiling. "But I wanted to do that too for a while." She says and leans in again. We kiss again. I put my arms on her waist and pull her closer. She puts her arms around my neck.

"Matt!" We stop kissing and look at the place where we heard the voice. We see Will and Luna on a small boat in the lake. "Will?" I say confused. Will says something to the man who's rowing their boat, I can't hear it because they're too far. But I know exactly what he said when I see their boat coming towards us. I look at May. "Come on, we need to go." She nods and starts to swim to the edge. I follow her. "Matt! Wait!" I hear Will yell. May and I get out of the water and start to run to the motorcycle when May suddenly stops.

"My bracelet!" "What bracelet?" "I must have lost it in the water!" "In the water?" "I need that bracelet; Drake gave it to me!" "Is it this bracelet?" We look next to us and see Will and Luna standing there. Luna with the bracelet. "Yes, thanks." May says taking the bracelet and putting it on.

"Matt, where were you? I've been searching you for a whole month." Will says to me. "If I would say where I live, then I wouldn't be able to go back there." "You don't have to go back, come to the castle with us." "No, Will, I'm not going." "Matt, please." He looks at May and then back at me. "You can bring her." "No, I'm not going to that place!" May says. "Please Matt, I miss you." Will says to me. "You miss me!? You were the one who left!" I yell at him. "I was on honeymoon!" "For two years!" "Matt-" "You never called! You never texted! You never answered my calls or texts! It was like I lost you, like you died!" "Matt... I...-" "Just leave me alone, Will." I say and start to walk away. May follows me.

Once we're home, I sit down in the sofa. May sits down next to me and puts her head on my shoulder. "I didn't know that you felt way about your brother." "Yeah, but I shouldn't complain, my brother is still alive." She takes her head of my shoulder and looks at me. "I really miss him." "Me too." "What do you think that he would do if he was still here and saw us kissing?" "He would threaten to murder me if I would hurt you." She smiles. "Yeah, he would." "But he would be happy that his best friend and sister are in love." I say looking in her eyes. "And I would tell him that I have the perfect girlfriend." "Girlfriend?" "Well, if you want to be it." She leans in. "I would love that." She kisses me and I kiss her back. She pulls me closer to her. She keeps pulling me closer while she leans back. Eventually we end up lying on the sofa kissing. She under me and I on top of her. We deepen the kiss. I put my hand on her hip and slowly move it upwards to her waist under her top.
