Chapter -4

In your eyes..

Radha arrived to the school 30 minutes late due to heavy traffic..
The program was already started and it was her group performance next..
Both Leela and Radhika rushed in the corridor..
Geetha teacher was standing outside the backstage green room looking at her watch nervously.. a sudden relief filled her face..
'Thank God.. You made it Leela.. Come Radhika.. let's go.. I'll get you arranged'
Radha waved bye to her mom..
Leela smiled at her 'Bye.. my angel.. good luck..' and waved her bye.

She then walked towards the auditorium and took a seat near Vasu and Rani who were happily discussing about the cute girl who gave a speech about importance of trees.
Leela sighed and waited to see Radhika..

Meanwhile in the green room..
Geetha Miss once again made the children to rehearse their dance steps..
Hrishi was centred as Lord Krishna with cute little girls around him..
Radhika stood behind him..it was her turn to dance and she came front of him..

Can Hrishi's little heart skip a beat? Maybe.

Hrishi felt his abnormal heartbeat and don't know what's happening. He then focused only on Radhika.. He couldn't take his eyes out of hers..

Geetha clapped at Radha's performance and pulled the cheeks of Hrishi..She smiled and asked him..
'Hey.. Hrishi.. Forgot your steps.. dance with her..'
'Sorry Miss..' he said 
'it's okay.. but don't forget it on the stage..' she gestured some steps with her hands ..'like this ..and this..okay Hrishi? '
He nodded his head..
'Okay..then..come..follow me.. they announced our names..'
Hrishi and Radha along with four little girls followed Geetha Miss to the stage..

Once the song started the curtains moved..
Vasu saw his son on the stage,he then stood and clapped.. Rani took a whistle from her purse and blowed it..and then clapped..
Leela gave them an irritated look..

'Rani?..Stop Whistling ma... this is too much...my colleague's are here.. what will they think about me?' Vasu said.
'Just one whistle Vasu.. no one noticed it anyway.. it's our only son.. if we didn't appreciate him,who will do then?' she sighed
'Hmm..' he raised his eyebrows towards Leela. Rani looked behind following his gesture..

She saw Leela looking at them awkwardly.
Rani smiled at her 'It's our son..'
Leela don't know what to react gave a wry smile them.
'Sit..Rani..' Vasu ordered her.
Leela clapped as Radhika entered as Radha and danced her part of the play..

'Wow..Radha is beautiful..' Vasu said
'Ya she is..cute girl..' Rani replied
They clapped again seeing the cute performance of their son and Radha..
'I guess after their play we must meet Radha's parents and congratulate them..she dances very well for this age..' Rani said to Vasu
'Ya..sure..Rani..' he said and continued seeing the play.

''Mmm..muhhrmm.." Leela gestured as though she corrected her throat to gain their attention.
Mr.&Mrs. Vasudevan turned their faces and looked her..
Rani enquired 'Water?..'
'No, Thanks,, I'm fine..' Leela said..

After a minute..
'By the way..she is my daughter there - Radha..'
Leela said with a smile stretched across her face.
Both of them don't know what to say and Vasu started by saying ' Well..She has a very good spirit.. She will become a good dancer one day..madam..'
Leela smiled again..
'Don't call me madam,Sir.. I'm Leelavathi Balakrishnan..just Leela.. Nice to meet you Mr.&Mrs.??' she questioned.
'Sorry we forgot.. I'm Vasudevan and she is my wife Uma Rani..'
'Glad to meet you.. Leela..' Rani extended her hand..
'What's your daughter name?'
'She is Radha.. I mean her name is Radhika we call her Radha..'
Both of them smiled and Vasu confronted 'Not surprising.. she is Radha!.. :)'
'Well that bubbly boy is your son right?'
'Yes he is.,He is Hrishikesh' Rani said and for a while they were quiet until the end of the play.

In the Green room, The Lord Krishna play by Geetha won the third place and all the parents and children of that play gathered to celebrate. Geetha distributed the individual gifts to the children and was busy talking with others.
Vasu and Rani approached Leela to talk and to know about her family.
Leela was on no mood to talk about Balakrishnan.. seeing everyone with their families,she didn't liked to be there without Bala..

Leela told that her husband was out of station and is busy with the work.
She faked a lie and tried to get out of that place with Radhika..
They said their byes.. Hrishi waved his hand and smiled at Radhika and Leela..
Radhika gave a tight smile and turned to leave with her mom..

Hrishi watched as they walked towards the door..
Radhika turned her head back to see Hrishi and both of their eyes locked just for a second..
The door was closed..
Hrishi couldn't recognise what had just happened..
He then looked at his Parents who were laughing for some joke and he too joined their laugh.
