It Happens

"People die," I looked up but there was no one else to be seen. No one in my group had spoken or moved from their position around me, "it happens."

"Who are you?" I demanded as I tried to find the source.

"I would listen to my words carefully," the voice advised, "and not try to argue,"

"Then say your part!" I yelled.

"I know why all of you are here," the voice, one of a male though not the voice that spoke when we first got here, "and the answer is no."

"No?" Jade asked, "do you even know the question?"

"You have come to ask for my help!" The voice roared back at her, "do not doubt me, you will regret it."

"Why won't you help us?" Felix asked, "she wishes for this world to burn. Is that really something you want to watch?"

"I won't help you because I don't know how," he said, "nothing like her has been seen or even mentioned in this world. There is no weapon that can kill her. No weapon from this world."

"You have nothing?" Jade asked, sounding defeated.

"I never said that," the voice spoke, "come inside where no ears can listen."

Me and Felix shared a glance at each other before we followed each other in. I shuddered as we passed through the hallway and towards the doorway.

"It's going to be okay," Felix whispered as he wrapped an arm around my shoulder.

"I know," I told him with a fake smile. I could tell by his eyes that he knew.

He knew that everything was not going to be okay. If the most powerful dark magician of this world can't stop her than who can?

"In, in," a voice uttered as the doors opened to reveal a small man in dark robs. He was bald with dark eyes and his voice...well, it was the one from the beginning. The one from when they first entered.

"I should apologize for Ez's behavior," another voice, the latter of the two we heard, said and I turned to glance at the man sitting on what looked like a throne. It was black and smooth like the walls. It looked almost like a shadow...

He wore dark robs, like Ez, but his were darker and had imprints. Faces...ones filled of pain. He had a bald head like his friend but his eyes, unlike Ez, were pitch black with no white whatsoever.

"Clamor," Nathaniel kneeled before the thrown. The necromancer smiled, amused, as he looked down upon his old pupil. He glanced at the rest of us who made no move to follow Nathaniel's lead.

"Nathaniel," Clamor said as he tilted his head, "it's been so long since you abandoned us."

"I wouldn't use those words," Nathaniel growled.

"Of course you wouldn't," Clamor stood and walked towards him, "you were always the victim!"

"I-"

"This is not the time!" I yelled as I jumped between the two. They looked at me in surprise, "we didn't come here for you two to fight."

"At a later date perhaps," Nathaniel muttered as he stood.

"Will do," Clamor said before turning towards me, "now, let's get started."

He lifted his hands and dark smoke filled the room. Felix cursed beside me and pulled out his sword. Jade did the same thing.

"Drop them!" Nathaniel yelled to us as he watched an amused Clamor.

"I mean you no harm," Clamor said, "just watch."
