~ Third Person ~A snowflake landed on his pale palm, causing a grin to light up his expression beautifully. He glanced over at his youngest sister, who was watching the middle Triplet intensively. He furrowed his eyebrows, blinking before zooming over to her.
"Dawn!" He yelled, catching the strawberry-blonde haired girl's attention. He grinned, once again, showing her the snowflake. "Can you catch some too?" He questioned, watching as she stared at the flake.
Her hazel eyes locked with his, tilting her head almost sadly before she shook it. E.J frowned, not understanding why. "Its really easy!" He exclaimed, "Do you want me to teach you?"
Dawn huffed, glancing over to see Renesmee staring at them as she also had a snowflake in the middle of her palm. Nodding, she turned back to her only brother. "Okay." She agreed, causing happiness to shine in his green eyes.
"Jump in the air." E.J instructed, with a serious tone that Dawn thought sounded just like Edward's. E.J copied his father's voice when the father-of-three taught him to play the piano. "You bend your knees and jump up!"
He took a quick look at her, before doing exactly what he said and jumped up high in the air. Dawn's eyes widened slightly, seeing how easy it looked. E.J's hand flew out, catching another snowflake before he landed back on the ground safety.
"E.J!"
The young boy's head snapped in the direction of his mother, before he turned and smiled at his little sister. "You can do it." He encouraged, causing Dawn to smile at him happily before he turned and ran to their mother.
The youngest of the three stood there, by herself for a few moments before looking up in the air.
E.J could do it.
Renesmee could do it.
So, why wouldn't she be able to do it?
She was their sister, just like them. Her brother's words of encouragement echoed in her mind. You can do it. She knew of her parents dislike towards her, of her sisters hatred towards her - she was grateful for her older brother. E.J was everything to her.
Smiling to herself, she bent her knees, breathing out steadily before jumping up - high like her brother and sister had previously done.
Turning his head, E.J looked up and saw Dawn had done it. He grinned, laughing. "You did it, Dawnie!" He yelled, seeing her place her hand out before landing back on the ground. "See!"
Dawn grinned over at him, before looking back at the beautiful snowflake.
E.J signed, turning back to his mother who was staring over at Dawn. "Momma," He spoke, immediately gaining her attention. "Dawn is just as special as us. Isn't she?"
And just like Dawn - E.J was fully aware of her treatment, too.
Leah paused, hesitantly smiling at Renesmee who cuddled up to a wolf version of Jacob who rubbed his big head against his imprint's shoulder. The young girl giggled in return.
Bella didn't reply, she only looked down at the snowflake that remained in her son's palm. "Its very beautiful," She changed the subject, "Can you catch another one?"
E.J nodded, forgetting about what he had just asked. Bella was thankful for his short attention span, something she adored about him - he was a very active child, not being able to stay in one place for very long. Unless he was playing the piano or reading.
"Okay!" He chipped.
He moved back to the middle of the area, besides his sister who jumped back up in the area, following alongside Renesmee who caught another snowflake. He blinked, staring at them with a large grin before his eyes caught sight of somebody on top of the cliff. He furrowed his eyebrows, "Momma, who's that?"
His question caused the mother to stop her conversation with the two shapeshifters, her eyes landing on the same, blonde woman. Her eyes widened, "I think that's our cousin," She stated, hiding how unsure she was. "Jacob, Leah." She nodded towards the children before disappearing.
Leah instantly grabbed ahold of her imprint, the young boy grabbing Dawn's hand who clenched it tight.
♧♧♧
E.J smiled at his youngest sister, "Daddy can teach you to play the piano, if you'd like?" He asked, seeing as their father had taught him perfectly and was teaching Renesmee, which was a lot harder considering she couldn't get the hand of it just yet.
Dawn, however, shook her head. "I already have," She informed him, "I couldn't do it. I tried to be good like you."
E.J frowned, before shrugging with a smile. "I bet you are really good at something!" He stated, "You just need to find out what."
Dawn looked like she thought about his words, the young girl looking a little older than E.J which wasn't true, considering he was the first born. She finally nodded but didn't say anything.
E.J jumped off the bed, sending one last grin at her before zooming out and down the stairs, appearing next to his mother in the living room. "Momma!" He yelled, giggling at her startled expression. She had been listening in to his conversation with Dawn.
Bella's eyes lit up when she realised her son had her husbands quick speed, glancing over at the father to see his eyes held the same spark. He knew how much his son took after him and he loved it.
"Hello, little man." Rose spoke, "Did you forget about me?" She opened her arms, pretending to be sad.
E.J's eyes widened, before he quickly jumped on her, his arms coming around to clasp around her neck. "No! No!" He protested, "Never, Rosie!" He shook his head, his messy hair in her face. "I promise." He gave her the same identical crooked smile to his father.
A smash cut Rose off from what she was about to say. All attention went to the small, pale vampire standing in the doorway of the living room, her expression of nothing but terror. Rose slowly stood up, her hand gripping her nephew's smaller one.
"Alice?" Jasper appeared by her side, looking beyond worried. "What did you see?" Dawn appeared from behind Alice, staring up at her Aunt in concern.
Alice's next words caused Bella to grip ahold of E.J and Renesmee like their was no tomorrow - Edward coming to stand next to his family, his arm around his wife's shoulder to pull her closer, his other hand placed on the top of his children's heads as their faces were buried in Bella's stomach, her arms clenched around them protectively. One of E.J's hand's, however, stuck out through the gap between Bella's hip and elbow, continued to grip his favourite Aunt's hand, who stared at him - very clearly horrified and worried about the words that slipped out of her sisters mouth. Leah and Jacob stared at their imprints, feeling overprotective, promising to each other and themselves, to make sure no harm came to either one of them - and for Leah, no harm to Dawn, either.
"The Volturi. They're coming."
