Their Looking for a Nogitsune

I was driving to Scott's house with Malia.

He told me to meet him there after school.

I ended up stopping at the clinic for a while.

Apparently he has a plan and I'm honestly scared.

"Are you okay?" Malia asked causing me to look at her.

"I'm fine." I lied while stopping in front of Scott's house to hear screaming.

"Stay in the car." I said before getting out of Malia's car and running inside.

Of course Malia didn't listen and she followed me inside.

We got inside to see Scott, Derek, Ethan, and Aiden all fighting Onis, Scott's dad on the floor, Mrs. McCall next to him, and Kira standing there with an Oni right behind her.

"Kira, look out!" I shouted before running towards the Oni.

Malia grabbed Kira as I kicked the Oni out the window.

"Now mom!" Scott shouted as Mrs. McCall created the mountain ash border, locking the Onis out.

I was checking the perimeter of the house making sure everything was good when Scott's mom yelled for Scott.

"Scott, this isn't good!" Mrs. McCall shouted causing Scott to run upstairs, I followed.

"How bad is it?" Scott asked.

"From the way that his arm is rotated, the tendon looks torn. He could be on his way to a collapsed lung." Mrs. McCall answered as she held a rag against Mr. McCall's bleeding arm.

"Mom, those things, they're not going to leave until the sun's up." Scott said.

"At the rate he's bleeding, he's not gonna make it that long." Mrs. McCall said.

"Can you help him?" Mrs. McCall asked me.

"My blood doesn't work with a wound from them. It might help a little but it won't heal him fully." I answered.

"Well something is better than nothing." Mrs. McCall said sternly.

I cut open my wrist feeding Mr. McCall my blood.

This better do something.

I left Scott alone with his parents.

"It's Kira, right? You going to tell us what you are?" I heard Ethan ask.

"What? What do you mean?" Kira asked in fear.

"Aiden! Watch!" Ethan said grabbing Kira's hand and making her touch the mountain ash barrier.

Her hand shot back.

"See that? She can't go through it either. So, what are you?" Ethan asked sternly as I walked into the room.

"She's a kitsune, idiot." I said causing their heads to snap towards me.

Derek entered the kitchen after me.

"Use your eyes. You can see it all around her.
The younger ones give off an aura. She just hasn't learned how to conceal it yet. She probably doesn't know what kind she is either." Derek said making her look at him in fear.

The whole house began to shake.

"What are they doing?" Scott asked as he entered the kitchen.

"Testing for weaknesses." I answered as the Onis hit the barrier with their swords.

"Will they get in?" Kira panicked.

"I don't think so." Scott answered.

They started to hit harder and soon found a week spot.

"Guys? We have a problem." Ethan said as they pushed into the barrier.

"Nikki, don't you have a spell that could help?" Malia asked making me think.

I closed my eyes, took in a deep breath, and did the spell.

I created a barrier but I knew it wouldn't hold.

Scott grabbed his phone and called Allison.

"Allison, please tell me that you have something. They're here. They're trying to get in. And it looks like they're gonna' be able to do it." Scott said as they started to hit against the barrier I'm holding up.

"Okay, okay listen. They're Japanese demons. They're called the oni. They're looking for someone possessed. Someone with a dark spirit attached to them." I listened to Allison as my barrier started to glitch out.

"A nogitsune." Scott said.

"How'd you know that? Scott?" Allison asked as I started to become weaker.

"Nikki, your nose." Malia said but I shook my head.

"I'm fine." I said as I felt blood trickle onto my lip.

"Just tell me what else." Scott said as he looked at me.

"Okay, they won't hurt you. They know you're supernatural but once they do this check, once they realize that you're not carrying with you this dark spirit, then they won't hurt you, I promise. All they're looking for is the nogitsune." Allison said before hanging up.

"I'm right, aren't I? They're looking for me." Kira said as I started to bleed from my ears.

"Scott, what's the plan?" Malia asked as she looked at me worried.

"They're looking for a dark spirit. And I know it's not you." Scott said to Kira.

"Scott, we're going to have to do something." Derek said as he looked at me.

"Don't do anything." Scott answered.

"Is he serious?" Aiden asked.

"Nikki, drop the barrier." Scott said, I listened dropping the barrier before collapsing to the ground, blacking out.
