KAILEY~
Flame Alyconia isn’t the band one should look up to. Yeah, right.
Flame Alyconia’s lyrics and musicality are unoriginal. They got that totally wrong; maybe they are the ones who copy our style.
Flame Alyconia is all about Kailey Caroline Poxlier. Oh freakin’ joy. What other rumors are these jealous people are going to make up tomorrow?
I guess it can’t be helped. In the recent months Flame Alyconia’s fame grew drastically—exponentially would be overrating, linearly would be an underestimate. Fans grew in number, and so did the haters. I usually manage to ignore the hate, but lately, it has gone too much.
Where the good bands who came to be great friends of ours are, there are also groups of assholes. Worse, we work with them under the same record company, so seeing them once in a while is inevitable, much more are the clashes between their members and ours. Yes, Oliver and August almost got into a fist fight with another band. Keana was attacked through social networking sites, and the poor girl’s judgement became clouded as she started throwing foul words at the bassist who disrespected her. No band will ever be perfect, no matter how immaculate one is in the sight of ever-adoring fans.
There’s also this issue rising that the awards night, in which FA was awarded Rock Forever’s Post-Hardcore Band Of The Year, is completely biased since Flame Alyconia’s always been mingling with the executives and reporters of the music review company. They say that an album of ours never made to the top ten so we don’t deserve the recognition.
Well, I tell them this: The band’s friendly relationship with the company had nothing to do with the award. The award always depended on positive reviews by the professionals.
Shame on me for I can’t think of supporting statements that could convince the music scene that Rock Forever’s not being biased. FA’s credibility is being questioned now. To defend, I need debating skills, which sadly I struggle with since I’m not an intelligent girl as you can see.
Argh, the stress. As the band’s frontwoman, I need to take care of the band’s reputation. Maintain a chill and relaxed demeanor during interviews. Smile at the camera while mentally crushing them inside my head. Forget how much of a jerk some people are when I have to face a crowd with them. Damn, just damn.
Putting those troubles aside, I breathe in deeply and let go of the chaotic thoughts whirling in my mind. I take a sip of my iced coffee, letting the flavored crushed ice melt in my mouth. Looking left and right, the familiarity of the place flicks a memory in me. My band has already stayed in the same hotel before and before performing in a concert arena in Philadelphia.
The managers and event producers asked us to stay in a lounge while waiting for the other bands to arrive. So far, there are already three bands present, leaving us to wait for two other teams.
Of all tours I’ve been to, I get the feeling that I’m going to hate this one. The places we’re going to visit are okay, but I don’t think I could tolerate being with the headlining band, Archer’s Ashen Wings, for some reason. They never really did anything against FA, but they’re a trying-hard group who couldn’t make work well with each other. The only thing that kept them together is their fame, the managers, the fans, and their music that kept on living. They already broke up but reunited a few times already. They look at fans as sources of money. The sight of their singer and guitarist couple makes me wanna puke. Basically, they’re just another bunch of assholes.
The presence of another band, Melodies For Sleepless Nights, also bothers me. I have a grudge against their lead singer, who wanted me for himself back then. He still chases after me, so all throughout this month I’m gonna keep my guard up.
