Nandini stood rooted in her spot.

But her presence got noticed by Abhay and his partner who were just as dumbstruck as she was. Abhay literally rolled down to the floor grabbing the end of the bed sheet covering his lower part of the body while Urvashi did the same struggling to cover herself. They didn't realize they were actually fighting over the piece of cloth like two kids feuding over their favorite toy.

It was a hilarious scene.

Nandini thought.

If it was under different circumstances, she would have burst out laughing. Irony!

Someone please tell these poor souls to grab their clothes. Nandini mused.

She sighed taking a look around and bent over as she picked up a pair of denim jeans and threw it on her husband's face. Abhay quickly put the pants on while  Nandini eyed the remaining clothes scattered across the floor. Abhay pulled up the zipper and was about to approach Nandini when she raised her hand gesturing him to stay put

"Darling it's not what you think it is..."

"Oh no! Of course it's not my dear hubby!"

Nandini took a look at Urvashi who seemed like she had just seen a ghost and then continued her sarcasm

"God I'm blind! That's why I can't see that my husband is satisfying his needs with my best friend occupying the bed. But unfortunately I'm not blind nor I am a fool! I have two eyes and my brain functions perfectly. And I can clearly get what's going on here!"

Nandini yelled. Surprisingly her eyes didn't well up. Maybe because she was so angry that it overpowered her emotions. Abhay pleaded

"Please give me a chance to explain..."

"Oh you don't owe me an explanation Abhay! You are no one to me! Why would you explain yourself?"

"What?"

"What what? You'll get the divorce papers by evening. We are done Mr Abhay Khurana!"

Nandini then glared at Urvashi

"And you! You are going to pay for this sweetheart. I could never imagine in my worst nightmare that the girl I used to call my best friend would cheat on me. I want friends in my life not color changing chameleons. You had a place in this industry only because of me. Watch how I destroy your career you f***ing bi**h!"

Nandini turned on her heel to leave, paying no attention to Abhay who was calling her to stop. Abhay couldn't follow her outside and he thought it was best not to. He didn't want to create a scene and tarnish his remaining self esteem.

********

Nandini glanced at the bartender

"Martini."

Her voice hoarse. She scanned the club while the person on the other side of the bar just gaped at her. He knew very well who she was but he never saw her there before. What he was excited about was that he had caught a glimpse of the 'Dream Girl' from so close. His feelings were conventional just as a typical fan had for a superstar but he couldn't help but note that she was in no mood to greet her much excited fan. Rather she looked pale and miserable. So he decided not to bother her more. He simply asked in his professional tone

"Gin vs Vodka ma'am?"

"Gin."

"Shaken or stirred?"

"Umm stirred I guess?"

He got a hunch that she might never have ordered drinks before and maybe had a poor knowledge in that section. So he decided to just prepare a typical one for her. He watched as she gulped down the liquid and choked which proved his notion right. Nandini yelped as she nearly broke the glass while placing it on the counter

"Another one!"

                                       *******

Nandini looked up at the man occupying the stool beside her. She was drunk and blank but she could clearly say that he was the suavest man she had ever seen. More than Abhay, more than anyone else. She continued observing him. The way he talked, his every gesture, his smirk. Her eyes traced his face and then made their way down. He was wearing a black tee with grey jeans. She could tell he had a body to die for. He seemed too perfect.

And his arms...

Nandini thought how would it be if she hugged him and he wrapped those strong muscled arms around her and she would keep her head on his chest and he would rest his chin on her head. And she would peacefully drift to oblivion. Feeling loved and cared and secured. Not caring for anything else in the world. Only to think she was where she belonged. In the arms of the man she loved and who loved her back. She deserved it. She wanted it. She needed it.

What was she even thinking? She had clearly gone nuts!

Nandini shook her head in an attempt to shove off the peculiar thoughts making her mind go erratic and in that process managed to stir up her whole body. She had lost control over her system. Her head felt dizzy and everything was blurry. She thought it would start spinning in no time. She held the counter for support and sat still when she realized that the man beside her had noticed his admirer.

His eyes sized her up taking in every inch of her features. His stare made her nervous and she gulped. He seemed to notice it and smirked

"Hey there. Am I mistaken or you were really checking me out? Like what you see? By the way, you're beautiful."

"Are you flirting with me?"

Nandini managed to blurt out. She was surprised at her own voice. She didn't sound like herself. She didn't even think before shooting that question. It just slipped out of her mouth. Her question made him smirk again.

God! Had he some kind of a fascination for that smug smile?

"No. I am just being frank. I know who you are. Nandini Murthy. Actress, director, producer, singer and what not!"

"Are you mocking me?"

Nandini asked in a sardonic tone

"Why do you always think the negative? I'm praising you. You're kind of an all rounder."

"Huh! Thanks. I'm just not that used to compliments!"

"Well I'm surprised. You should be you know."

"Who are you?"

"I'm... hey you okay?"

Nandini stumbled nearly loosing her balance but he got hold of her on time

"Let's go over there. You must be feeling dizzy. Did you drink too much? You know you should never drink more than you can handle."

"I never had a drink before. First time huh!"

"And you got yourself drunk? Are you crazy?"

"I think so!"

Nandini's head spun again but she had a support this time and she happily accepted it.
