My eyes snap open. "Hey sorry but um we're here." said the guy sitting in the driver's seat.
He starts exiting the car and I attempt to do the same but my violent shivers are keeping me from moving. He turns around the car and crouches next to me.
"C'mon let me help you." He grabs my arm and pulls me out of the car then steadies me on my feet. I wince because of the pain in my ankle which I've totally forgotten about.
He notices and tightens his grip around me. He checked in and we headed to the room. The room has two single beds a bathroom and a kitchenette.
He helps me to the bed. " I think you should take a warm shower and change."
He's probably right. I should. I give him a nod of agreement. I unzip my backpack and take out a sweater and some old sweat pants and head to the bathroom.
Much like the last motel I've been to the bathroom is pretty small. I strip and turn the shower on and hope to god they have warm water.
Fortunately they do. After I'm done I dress up and exit the bathroom. The guy is sitting on one of the beds with a gatorade in his hand.
" Oh you're done. You should get warmed up. I turned the heater on for you."
"Thanks." I said surprised with my weak voice.
"It talks!" he said with a grin. I laugh a little.
" I'm Nathan, you can call me Nate nice to meet you."
He said and reaches his and out. I clear my throat
"Um I'm Royce, people call me Roy nice to meet you too."
I reach out for his hand and shake it. " Thanks for um helping me." I say with my head low.
"Don't mention it. How could I leave you there anyway?...you want some gatorade?"
I nod.
I take a seat at the edge of the other bed when he walks over to the mini fridge and takes out a bottle of gatorade and then hands it to me.
"Hey I saw you wince earlier. Are you hurt somewhere or something?" he asks.
"Uh it's nothing m-major but I ankle hurts a little."
" Hey let me see."
he crouches next to my foot and lifts up the sleeve to take a look. "Ouch, okay I'm going to get some ice."
he hands me a pack of ice and tells me to put it over the bruise. I thank him and do as he said.
"I'm going to sleep you should too I mean...you must be pretty tired." he tells me.
"Yeah, Thanks again Nate."
"mm" he hums sleeply.
I drop my head over the pillow and pull the blankets all the way up to my chin.
I'm so freaking tired. Also this headache has been bugging me ever since I woke up in the car.
At least I'm alive and sleeping in a bed, thanks to Nate. He's really nice.
