Oh God.

I knew I should have bought a flash light. It's dark. No cars are passing by so headlights aren't a suggestion. And it's cold. Also looks like a storm is brewing. Why is this road so god damn rocky?

I pull my coat closer to my body. Where even am I? All I see is trees, trees, and more trees. I'm kinda scared to be honest. After a while of just walking using my phone's flash light to see where I'm going it starts to rain.

Great.

I put my phone away. Not risking ruining my only source of entertainment and communication with the rain. God it's really cold. Why haven't I packed a rain jacket or something. I feel my body shuddering only a few minutes after it starts raining. I'm soaked.

This is not good. I need to get warm. But I don't think I'll see a gas station or a motel soon around here. I consider stopping and just sit here until the rain stops. Nah I'll probably freeze to death since walking generates more body heat.

Fuck. My teeth are chattering. I might seriously go into a case of hypothermia. Just then I am pulled out off my train of thought by feeling myself slip. My eyes widen in fear as I try to comprehend what just happened.

Next thing I know I'm falling towards the huge trees off the road. I collide with a wide tree trunk. I wimper. Fuck that hurt. I lift my head from the floor slowly. I feel a sting above my right eyebrow. I ignore it. I try to move the rest of my body to sit up straight but stop completely after my ankle starts hurting. And I mean really hurting. I attempt to stand putting all my weight on the other leg.

What the fuck do I do now. My backpack is still on my back. (thank goodness for that) Oh God it's so cold. My only choice here is to climb up to the road again and continue walking. The way up was really slippery due to the mud that formed.

And my aching ankle isn't making it any easier, but I make it. I roll on my back breathing heavily. I lay there for a few seconds raindrops landing on my face.

I stand up quickly but instantly regret it when I start to feel dizzy. I continue walking for god knows how long. When the hell is this rain going to stop.

I find it hard to breathe and I don't really know what's going on anymore except for the fact that my knees buckled underneath me. My vision is blurry.

Hell, it's so dark it wouldn't make a difference if I could see clearly. I collapse with my face colliding with the asphalt. I don't think I'm unconscious.

I can still hear the rain and wind. My violent shivers are probably keeping me awake... Im hearing weird sounds but I can't seem to know what's causing them then I feel myself being moved. And bright light is burning my eyes. Light. Light?

I'm lying on something soft now. I think I'm coming by. My vision clears. I raise my head and see a guy about to close the door of the car that I'm apparently in. Shit am I being kidnapped?!

Worry and panic are clearly showing on my face so he said "Hey hey don't worry I'm not going to hurt you I found you lying on the sidewalk. You looked like you were a couple of seconds away from freezing to death. Here, have this."

he hands me a blanket and goes to get in the driver's seat. After what felt like five minutes of silent driving he says.
"Hey listen, I know a motel around here. Probably going to take about an hour and a half to get there think you could hang on?"

I nod

"Why don't you come sit in the passenger's seat? Heater's warmer over here."
He helps me sit in the front. He continues driving. I wrap the blanket he handed me earlier around my shoulders but it doesn't really help much. My head is leaning on the cold window and I'm starting to dose off. I'm about to fall asleep alone in a car with a stranger.

And that's totally alright.
