Chapter Nine

(Jenna's POV)

" Good boy Gucci! good boy!"

I'm having fun with my pet dog while doing some wicked assignment. Busy as hell these days, didn't even get a chance to tell Emma and Lauryne about Dane and his awesome job. I actually feel a bit left out these days, not because i'm busy with my assignments, it's because Lauryne has been hanging out with Jake and Emma....Oh, Emma... She has been stalking that ...what's his name again? Oh right! Samuel.... Gosh, what a drama!

My golden retriever seems to know my problem and has been keeping me accompany. He looks at me with his black puppy eyes fill with understanding. Aww... I couldn't stand it! He's too cute. I continue my assignment and scroll through my phone. A picture of me and Dane pops out, bringing me back to my memories, where hundreds of shooting stars flew right above us and slowly disappear into stardust. Wow, how i wish i could see them up close. Too bad i wasn't able to afford a higher power telescope. Wait, Dane told me he's an observer and he's working in a lab. And a shower on.... i forgot the date of the Gemini shower! shit!

My phone beeped and Gucci looked at it and shows a jolly face.

"What is it boy? hmm? " I asked him and look at my phone. Dane texts me. My heart instantly leaps when his name comes across my mind.

*Hey, the Gemini showers is today, are you coming? cause if u are let me know as soon as possible. i need to save a place for you. It's gonna be packed with shower-loving humans.*

*Cool! Hanging out in a lab!!! Heck yeah I'm coming!*

I quickly reply him. My eyes got stuck at his name -- Dane. Thinking, what a nice guy he is.

"Gucci, i'm going out tonight. You take care of Emma and make sure she gets in bed by 10.30. You know she'll be having a test tomorrow." Gucci seems to have jotted my words down in his heart. Looking at his black eyes reminds me of the one Dane have, black and shines like a shooting star. I can see my own reflection in them. My phone goes off again. Woah! He texted back, well thats fast.

*Tonight at 9. Don't be late.*

So serious. Lol. I quickly finish my assignments and take a nap.

'You would not believe you're eyes, as ten millions firefly, lit up the world as i....' Before my alarm could continue any further, Gucci licks my face and wake me up. Barking softly, like he's saying 'you're gonna be late'. I looked at the time, it's 8:30 already. I quickly take a shower and scan through the name card with the address on it.

"Gucci, where's Emma and Lauryne?" He blinks and looks from left to right. They're always out now. Anyhow, I got my own stuff to do now. "Bye Gucci, you be good now !" I waved Gucci goodbye and prepare to go into my car. But he shows his puppy look, asking me to bring him with me. Dane said it'll be crowded, how could I bring Gucci there?

I'll just ask him.

"Hello?"

"Yeah, Jenna, what is it?" He asked politely, never thought his voice would be this nice on the phone.

"My dog is alone at home and he's kinda lonely, do you think I can bring him or is that too much to ask?" I felt really embarass to ask something so over.

"Sure sure! Our lab is pet friendly, forgot to tell you, didn't know you have a dog."

"Ok then I'm coming now bye!"

"Bye." his voice is so calm.

"Come on Gucci! We're gonna star gaze together! " He hops into the passenger sit and seat belts himself with his mouth. "Good boy Gucci, lets go meet someone who has the same sparkling black eyes like yours ok?"

He barked once as a 'yes'.

"Rememer to be nice ok? He's a frieandly guy and i'm thinking we're gonna be good friends. So don't scare him off ok?" he barks again.

"Jenna, you made it, and this must be Gucci. Hi, Gucci " He welcomes us into his lab. Wait a second, how did he know Gucci's name?

"Hey, how did you know his name?" I asked curiously.

"Well, someone forgot to end our call just now... So... I heard everything about the black eyes and good friends part. " He said mischievously. It's funny, usually I'll feel me face burn and go all blushy and stuff, but i felt so natural whenever I'm with him, i just laugh and said, "You little shit. Lucky for me i didn't say anything stupid. " He smiles and looks at me.

Gucci suddenly barks at him and waves his tail. "He wants you to know he's existence." I explain to Dane.

"Alright then, come with me little guy, and pretty girl." He leads us into his lab and shows us his working desk and the giant observaratory of his. Gucci followed him all the way, behaving very good and extra friendly, he must have like Dane. We then follow Dane to a garden as wide as my house.

"This is where everyone's gonna set up their accesery later." Dane tells me as he holds onto my shoulder and pushes me toward a door in the corner.

"Wait, what?! It's not time yet? Why did you ask me to come over so early? I could have..." My words stop coming out. It's like i've been paralyzed or something. We goes into the tiny dark room and the next moment the roof opens up and above were a billions of stars. Gucci lays on the floor and enjoys the stars while Dane pats my back twice and does the same.

"Am I dead? Is this a dream? " I mumbled, trying to get my words to come together.

"NO silly! you're in the star gazing centre. Here's where the other workers chart their stars and deal with constellation. " he explains as he grabs my hand and pulls, asking me to lay down. I sleep on Gucci and the 3 of us look at the stars.Dane teaches me how to connect most of the constellations and how they work.

When he finished, everything went downright peaceful, even Gucci's breathing slows down.

"Hey, is this how you get girls?" I joke around with him.

"Actually, you're my first guest here. I've never brought anyone into this chamber before."

"Aww.... really? Thanks dude! " I smile as i stare at the beautiful night sky.

Dane sit up and stares at me, then he smiles. "Come on, let's go meet the stars up close and personal. come on Gucci!" He hurries out the chamber as the roof shuts itself. I quickly get up and follow him. "Where are we going?"

"To see what a star really looks like, to my paradise." He says and winks at me.

" Your Paradise? Surprise Me! "
