Mistake

Harrys POV-
We walked inside our apartment and Louis went straight for his room again.
I gave it about 5 minutes and then walked in.
I looked at him and he was sobbing on his bed.
"Lou?" I say softly
He jumps up and wipes his tears
"Oh hey Harry! I'm fine. Just practicing acting" he says quickly
"you're not fine. I'm worried about you.." I say
He starts sobbing again.
I hug him tightly
"well I'm worried about Maya" he starts sobbing so hard it sounded like it hurt
"Shh, hey.. hey, what's going on?" I ask softly
"harry..I'm going to tell you something and you have to promise to never ever repeat it to anyone again, do you promise?" Louis asked
I nod, "you have my word. I promise"
"Maya is abused by her boyfriend, Zach" Louis says breaking into sobs again
My heart stops
"Oh my god..is that all those bruises and marks everywhere?" I ask
He nods
"It's so bad Liam, they're everywhere. I love her so much, she said it under control but I just don't believe her" he was shaking so hard I could tell he was so scared.
"You have to tell someone Louis!" I say
"No! Liam I mean it. You can't tell ANYONE. I promised her. I broke it by telling you, don't make me regret it.." He cries.
I look down.
"Her life is on the line." I say to him
He sobs
"I k-know, but trust me it's better if you tell nobody" he begs
I nod, "okay, get some rest Lou." I hug him tight and leave the room.
He didn't realize that you have to tell someone when you hear something like that.
I get in the car, look up zach's name in the address book, and head to his house.
I ran to the doorstep and pounded on the door.
He opened it
"What the fuck do you want?" He spat
"I want you to stop hurting your girlfriend, you fucking asshole." I yell
"Oh that little pussy told you?" He laughed
"No, she didn't. Louis Tomlinson did. He's a real man, that would never beat his girlfriend. We know all about it so don't try and hide" I spat back at him
"Oh I'm not hiding, but you made a mistake by telling me bud." He says
"Whys that?" I ask
"Just get the fuck out, you are wasting my time!" He slams the door in my face
I walk to the car and drive back to our apartment.
Why was it a mistake? I didn't understand.
