Adriano Pov~
I flopped onto my bed, sighing in frustration, unable to get a certain someone out of my head.
All day, her image lingered in my thoughts. Those big, chocolaty brown eyes, her full dark brown hair, and her curves that tempted me with every move she made. The only thing I wanna do is throw her on my bed and make love to her all night long.
But reality hit me like a freight train – she was the enemy. She feared me, she hated me, and deep down, I knew that might never change.
I closed my eyes, trying to push her out of my mind and willing myself to fall asleep, but a certain brown-eyed girl continued to invade my dreams.
Gianna Pov~
I had only managed to get a meager four hours of sleep last night. Capo Basilio's actions had circled relentlessly in my head throughout the night. The way his strong arms had enveloped me, the sensation of his warm, soft lips on my neck, and his voice, dripping with desire, whispering in my ear—all of it was etched vividly in my memory.
I got goosebumps just by thinking about him. But I know better. I know all he wants to do is f*ck me and then throw me to the side, like he does all the other whore's he sleeps around with. I will not be one of those girls.
At 5:15 a.m., Giovanni had arrived at my door, holding out a uniform for me. I had taken it, greeted him with a simple "Good morning," but received no reaction. Now, as I pulled my hair up into a ponytail and slipped into the provided shoes and decided it was time to leave.
Giovanni waited outside my door, a stoic presence. Yana was beside him, attempting to engage him in conversation, but his posture remained rigid, his expression unyielding.
I hugged Yana. "Goodmorning." She said with a smile.
I exchanged a morning hug with Yana, her smile bringing a touch of warmth to the otherwise quiet morning.
"Good morning," she greeted me.
"Good morning," I replied, our words hanging in the air like hesitant notes in a silent symphony. We followed Giovanni downstairs, passing vivid portraits that seemed to tell their own stories.
Giovanni explained the breakfast routine in the kitchen, which was nothing short of a grand feast. It was a buffet-style breakfast with a vast array of options, from eggs and bacon to pancakes, waffles, sausage, and much more. He bid us farewell, and we were left to fend for ourselves.
I looked at Yana and she snickered "Who put a stick up his ass." She murmured.
I chuckled and pulled her over to take our breakfast. We quickly loaded our plates with breakfast and headed towards the garden. Taking a seat on one of the benches, we ate with haste, mindful of the fact that we had to begin our day's work with Kate in just 10 minutes. Being late was not an option.
"That's not very lady like." We heard a deep voice say from behind us. We both visibly froze and slowly turned to look. To our surprise, it was Matteo, wearing a smirk that seemed to relish our discomfort.
Yana, not one to mince words, retorted rather rudely, "Can we help you?"
I glanced at Matteo and was relieved when he didn't react to Yana's rudeness.
