~Joey's POV~
I sat at my desk, absentmindedly bouncing on the exercise ball that served as my chair.
I had just finished watching Shane's most recent vlog. Luckily, it didn't have anything to do with Lisa. She was, I noticed, appearing in less and less of Shane's videos, which I didn't mind.
Actually, I don't just "not mind". I think it's great.
That meant no distractions from Shane. Shane. How could one person so completely take over my life, even change my sexuality?
I had dated around with a few girls, but nothing major.
Seeing them wasn't the same as seeing Shane. Seeing any of them sitting across the table from me, or sitting on the couch next to me, didn't spark the same feeling in me as seeing Shane in a wig and makeup did.
Even dressed in drag, he was undeniably gorgeous.
Not to mention his laugh, his eyes, his hair, and especially his dirty sense of humor.
I put my head in my hands in frustration. He has a girlfriend, Joey! And he's happy with her.
He'll probably marry her one day, saying her name as he gets down on one knee and reveals the ring he picked out for her.
Not your name. The words "Joseph Michael Graceffa" will not pass his lips (unless he's joking) and the words "will you marry me?" will not follow. Get that through your thick skull.
He does not like you.
He is straight.
He will not fall for you.
And there is nothing you can do to get him to fall for you.
I shut my laptop and tried to go to sleep.
I laid in bed, and I felt the familiar burning sensation behind my eyes. I knew what was next, and I refused to let it happen. I made a silent promise that I would not cry myself to sleep tonight.
My resolve broke as the first tear dripped onto my cheek. I promised I wouldn't cry myself to sleep last night, too. And the night before, and the night before that.
Ever since I met Shane, I haven't been able to keep that promise.
