Laken Rivera
I lied back on the couch as EJ stood in his kitchen, washing out the pocket knife. Usually I'd be freaking out over killing someone, but I was barely bothered about what just happened.
"I hope that counter guy doesn't snitch." I said as I put a blunt in between my lips and lit it up.
I put the lighter down on the tray and sat back, puffing. He put his knife in a napkin and placed it in a drawer. He closed the drawer and came over to me, sitting down on the couch.
"Nah, not at all. I doubt that's the first time some shit like that happened. Plus if he does, I'll find out and take care of him."
"Want?" I gestured the blunt to him. He shook his head no and leaned in closer to my face, puckering his lips.
I leaned in closer and blew the smoke from my mouth into his. I looked down at his lips as he inhaled the smoke I exhaled. He closed his mouth with thin spirals of smoke still lingering out.
I smiled, "damn."
"What?" He looked at me as he put his head back.
"That was...cool."
"Your dork ass saying cool? Shit was sexy..read my mind. Knew exactly what I was looking for."
I looked at him.
"What? You think I'd want you to kiss me or some shit?"
I shrugged, "well I mean you was puckering up. You wanted Laken's lips, huh?"
"Nah nigga. Got Denver all over them."
"Oh shut up." I rolled my eyes as he started to chuckle.
"I'm just fucking with you. I'm glad you broke up with him, honestly."
"Why?"
"He ain't deserve a girl like you."
"A girl like me? What do you mean?" I took another hit.
"A girl like you...beautiful, got heart...down for whatever. Ride or die type of girl, feel me?"
I was flattered, "you think I'm all that?"
"Don't start feeling yourself, yo. I think you pretty chill, that's all."
"I'm pretty and chill? How sweet." I teased him as he glared at me. I giggled and looked at him before taking one more hit.
He looked at me and leaned in once again. I puckered my lips again but this time he shook his head and leaned in closer. He wanted to kiss me.
My insides heated up and I backed up a bit, not ready for this. Even though I was single, I was not over Denver. It wouldn't be right for me to be here kissing EJ when I just got out of a relationship.
"EJ..."
He clenched his jaw and moved back, sniffing as he smiled in embarrassment, "my fault."
"No it's not you it's just that I---"
"Laken, it's cool."
