Everything was black. Sawyer was surrounded in darkness, and knew she was in the nightmare. Her nightmares weren't like others- rather than being oblivious to the fact she was dreaming, she was completely aware. The only problem was, she didn't know how to wake up.
She felt around in the darkness, knowing the now-familiar room she was in by touch. When she felt the doorknob she had touched many times before, she turned it, and closed her eyes. The sudden brightness still sept through her eyelids, but she grew accustomed to the light and eventually was able to open her eyes. She stepped into a forest and looked around, rubbing her eyes every so often. This was not her first time having this dream, or rather, nightmare, but it seemed this time something was different. She had stepped out into a dark, cold forest, and the light that had blinded her moments before was now gone. She looked behind her, and was surprised to see the door she has just walked through was gone. Something was definitely off about this "dream."
Sawyer walked forward through the trees, ducking under branches and wincing in pain whenever her bare feet stepped on a sharp rock.
Eventually, now in a part of the imaginary forest she had never been in before, she came across a small stream. It was too long to jump over, and was not very deep, so she waded across the murky water.
Sawyer was halfway across when she felt a light tug on her foot. At first, thinking it was just the current, she kept wading. Suddenly, she felt a firm pull on her leg. Something was holding her leg, and not letting go.
Sawyer was jerked down multiple times, each time her head getting closer and closer to being completely submerged. The water had turned pitch black now, and she could no longer see the land that was feet away from her moments ago. Now all she could see was a never-ending expanse of black water.
Whatever was lurking in the water now had ahold of both her legs, violently yanking them downwards. Sawyer took one last gulp of breath before being pulled completely under.
She opened her eyes underwater, but couldn't see a thing. It was as if she had never opened them, and soon enough she couldn't tell if they were open or closed.
Just when Sawyer thought she couldn't hold her breath any longer, she heard a voice. It whispered a single word, but she was almost certain she knew who it was. She heard it once more, louder this time, and her suspicions were confirmed. She looked around for the owner of the voice, but it was useless.

"Help," Quentin's voice pleaded, and Sawyer desperately tried to call back.
