The Way Things Were

CHAPTER 3

Selena's POV

All I could think to myself was that this note was pretty strange. I met these guys not even two days ago and creepy notes are under my door.

I took the note with me into my bedroom and just sat it on my dresser. I thought to myself, what could Justin be talking about? From the conversation between Harry and I at the café, he seems to be a sweet guy.

"Sel, you alright?" Demi suddenly walked into my room silently.

"Yeah Dem, I'm just fine. Movie?" I asked quickly trying to avoid the subject of the note.

"Hold on.. I've got to tell you something.." She sounded concerned..

"What is it Demi?"

"Well while you were out, Zayn and Niall came over for a visit.. And Ari,Miley and I found out some interesting things."

Uh oh.

"What did they say?" I asked eagerly.

"Well there's bad blood between Justin and Harry because before they came to university, they were the best friends. Did everything together. Then out of nowhere Harry.."

"Is this stupid fight over a girl?" I interrupted Demi.

"Jussttt waaaiit you'll see!"

"Alrighhttt.."

"Okay so, Harry blindsided Justin and got his girlfriend pregnant. Her name was Jess. When Jess found out she was pregnant, she thought it was Harry's.." Demi started to slow down.

"But it wasn't Harry's huh?" I asked.

"No it was really Justin's. But Harry freaked on her and made her get an abortion. Afterwards, although it was too late, was when Jess found out. Justin found out about everything between her and Harry then the abortion and everything got really bad." Demi began to sound sad.

"Justin was angry with Harry. He never thought he's best friend would do such a thing. He broke up with Jess and never spoke to Harry again. He wanted that baby but now he or she was gone. And it was only a matter of time before Jess was gone too.." Demi now had tears in her eyes as did I.

But Harry couldn't have meant to cause that. It had to be an accident. A tragic one at that.

"But one more thing Sel.."she continued.

"When Justin went back to the abortion clinic to get the paper work, no papers were signed let alone filed."

So wait a minute. Jess didn't commit suicide. 

"Justin does't know what happened to Jess or the baby." 

"So if Jess simply ran away, then why are things still so hostile between Justin and Harry?" I asked curiously.

"No one knows," Demi replied, "But both of them want to know where Jess is."

Wait a minute.  Sure they want to know where Jess is. But where is that baby?
