"Blair."
"Blaaaair."
"Blair, wake up!" and next thing I know, I am drenched in freezing ass cold water. My hair is soaked and my clothes start sticking to me as I get out of bed and throw everything I can find at Kyle.
"What was that for?" I yell, making sure he knew I was pissed.
"Well, you wouldn't wake up when I asked you too."
"This was the first time I was sleeping without nightmares you idiot!" and I rush to the bathroom to change out of my drenched sweatpants and faded t-shirt. Well, Kyle's sweatpants and faded t-shirt. This house is filled with all men and their mom took all of her stuff when she bailed, so there's really nothing for me to wear but the boys' old baby clothes because that's all that will fit me.
"Blair, look at the time." Kyle says as I walk out of the bathroom and put my hair in some semblance of a ponytail. I look around and notice that the clock says 3:17 P.M.
"What? That means I slept for," I pause and count silently. "Almost twelve hours!"
"No. Try thirty-six. Today's Thursday. Not Wednesday."
"Huh?"
"Blair, we slept through an entire day." He smiled at me. Not the ordinary smile though. His smile had a secret behind it. A secret I was hoping he was ready to tell me. There has been an awful lot Kyle has kept from me recently and I'm hoping he's ready to tell me, because I was running out of patience.
"Come on. Get dressed."
"What? No way. Can't you see I was in the middle of something?" He looked confused at first. Then rolled his eyes at me. "Now, if you'll excuse me. I have to go sleep in your room until you change the sheets on my bed to dry ones!" I smiled at him and walked out of the room.
Only to be thrown over Kyle's shoulder.
"You are going to change one way or another." I started kicking my legs in every direction until Kyle lost his balance on the stairs and we both went falling down. Somehow though, Kyle managed to keep me in his arms and wrap himself around me, making sure I wouldn't get hurt I assume. By the time we had finally rolled down the stairs, he had my face in the crook of his shoulder with his hands covering me. I looked up and saw Kyle staring at me, like he always does with a glint of hope and worry in his eyes. All you could hear in the house was our heavily breathing.
"Are you okay?" Kyle said, breaking the silence.
"Y-yeah. Just peachy." I smiled, and shoved him off of me.
"I'll be waiting in the car. You got ten minutes to get ready." I gasped at his time frame. He chuckled on his way to the door.
"And that doesn't men an hour in girl time!" and he was out of the door, but peeked his head back in. "You now have nine minutes and forty-two seconds."
"What? are you crazy?"
"Thirty-nine. Thirty-eight. Thirty-seven. Thirty-six. Thirty-five. Thirty-" and he slammed the door, two couch pillows following behind him.
Men.
Nine minutes and thirty-two seconds later, I was as ready as any girl with no make-up and only boys clothing was going to be. Even if I had make-up, I wouldn't know the first thing about it. Hell, I don't even know what to do with my hair besides putting it in a pony-tail. And even Kyle had to show me how to do that. Anyway, as soon as I got in the car, we were off. To where? Hmm
"Kyle, where are we going?" I asked as he stopped at a red light. He looked at me and stared for a while, like he was wondering whether or not to trust me.
