“Life is a confusing thing, so say fuck you life.”

I wake up the next morning relieved; it was just a dream. I race out of bed to get ready, eager to see Leilah and tell her all about the dream. I reach the bus stop to see my classmates all waiting for the bus.

“Hey!” I scream.

None of them seem to notice. I walk around them to look into their faces; they all looked tired and dead. I shiver and move out of their on looking gaze. Weird, maybe they are tired? I can hear the buses tires rolling down the street. I begin to jump for joy at the thought of seeing everyone. I race up the bus stairs to see everyone on the bus silent; unmoving. I look back at the kids at the bus stop; they weren’t moving either.

“Aren’t you coming?” I scream out the window.

Before they can answer the bus begins to move forward. I sit down smiling at the thought of returning to a normal day. When we reach the school I feel an odd love for the piece of junk. I jump down the stairs of the bus and race to first period. When I get there I can see Leilah staring blankly at the desk. I run to her and throw my arms around her; she felt cold against me.

“Leilah?” I say confused.

I look at the other students in the room, they look exactly like Leilah. All their heads were drooped down staring at the desks. The teacher walks in and begins to slowly write on the board. The chalk scrapping against the surface.

“Anyway, I had the craziest dream!”

I tell her all about it; ignoring the lifeless face staring into mine. I lay my head down on the desk so I can stare into hers. I reach my hand up and caress her cheek. The clock on the wall slowly ticks; time is dragging. I close my eyes and listen to it. When I open them again to that familiar fluffy room. Leilah’s face was no longer in my hands.

“Where is she!” I scream over and over.

Doctors race in and grab me. I try and pull away but can’t. I felt weak and alone. I want Leilah. I want to know what’s going on with me.
