Chapter #2: Tickity-Tok.

Roses are red, violets are blue, Earl WilkenDale I'm swooning over you. --Vadik-Petrov Pallav.

At three thirty-five exactly; Vadik spotted one of Vlademar's four vehicles from his stance behind the pick-up gate infront of WilkenDale academy.

The line moving as slow as a ant stuck in honey would to free itself. Cars honking at one another, a few foul words were exchanged between two elegant rich people whom ranted about why they should be allowed to proceed further in line as a couple of staff members try an reason with them.

Any energy to walk towards said vehicle vanished as afternoon heat peered down on the russian boy in his suit, even underneath shade and the cooling system the academy seemingly had built with the school. But, that wasn't a big problem though, because Vadik's mind was too occupied recalling today's event's with a side smirk tugging his pouty lip's. A beautiful androgynous fellow he learned later in the day was actually, a young man around twenty year's of age. Who unknowingly stole the heart of the little Russian. Entirely. And Earl definitely wasn't getting a pass for that crime either.

One after another, Earl helped each toddler into their proper cars while being greeted happily by parent's. And a few single parent's felt courageous enough to subtly flirt but it was more awkward due to Earl's obliviousness, some bluntly flirted even infront of their toddlers, which led to him being extremely uncomfortable and a certain curious gazes from a five year old boy didn't help settle such anxiety.

All day, for nearly six hour's he could sense little Vadik's unhindered eye's following him everywhere, even after leaving the schools Cafeteria during official introductions as WilkenDale academy usually did. Discarding such ludicrous thought's, Earl safely tucked his bestfriend Richie's little six-in-a-half year old cousin, Stacy, into her car-seat --maneuvering the safty-belt so to not disturb her Great-job sticker before buckling her actual seatbelt, and she smiled cheerily to him, "Thanks, Earl!"

He chuckled, "Of course, sweetie." Feeling Stacy's mom ogling him, he hurriedly places her lunchbox near her purple sneakers. "Have a good afternoon." He comments. Rising to a stand after shutting the car door gently, despite the car going nowhere because of campus rush hour. Out of his peripheral vision a small kid caught his attention and Earl dare to sneak a glace.

Richie, stealthy intertwined both arms around Earl's slender mid-abdomen, nearly giving his bestfriend a seizure in the process of yanking him upwards; Back to chest in a friendly manner as usual when it came to Richie. "Yo, Pretty-boy!" Richie purred in his ear, goofiness on full display as expected. "I hear you got engaged?" He mused, setting earl down before a panic attack could officially set in.

Once firmly on concrete Earl contemplated over Richie's words whilst palming his erratic heart, he was a little slower today than most, admittedly, but after a second he understood why Richie was cackling like a hyena. Did the entire academy know by now? Unintentionally Earl's eye's managed to fall onto a chilling five-year-olds off instinct, their gazes always managing to find each-other for some absurd reason and for a five year old, Vadik's neutral but iced hazel eye's seemed so fierce from twenty feet away. Maybe it's the heat? More importantly was Earl really intimidated by a toddler?

Following green with grey specks to a single child no less than twenty feet away whom held a harsh stare towards Richie, he swallowed audibly. "What's the matter with that ki-" Recognition settled over his words and Richie shook his head mouth gaping with amusement, "That kid actually claimed you to be his wif-"

Earl smacked Richie upside the head tenderly to regain his attention and details that probably weren't permitted to him before the auctioning of his future. The younger male turned to fully face the jock, while Vadik became acquainted with a back view to block Earl's blushing cheeks from Vadik's sight. "H-he stole my first kiss, too." He fretted, Earl had to acknowledge that his new stalker, Vadik-Petrov. Had some serious audacity to declare a much older man, to be wedded to himself in the future. Did people even do that anymore?

Vadik was not amused at this so called Richie character. No, not even a itty-bit. Richie. As what was understood rolling off Earl's lip's until being graced with his lean backside, was a thorn in Vadik's side. It would seem the two were friends, quite close since Earl nor Earl's Father; Gordan, liked for The nurse to be touched so carelessly. And Richie sure took another meaning to the word touching and Earl seemed to be none the wiser as expected. And Vadik was no fool. He had competition. The target: Earl's heart.

Richie hugged Earl for what was probably the tenth time in a period of five minutes as each vehicle either went around a car or blew their horn in frustration. And Vadik had to use much restraint in order to not pick up a piece of wood laying by the door from a earlier outdoors project and charge for Richie in earnest to reconstruct his face into a beautiful bloody mess. But that would depress his future lover greatly, wouldn't it?

A shadow disrupted such thinking. "Young Pallav, Sir." A familiar guard began. Holding the backseat door open. "Please step inside careful-"

Vadik ignored him, "No. That man is going to buckle me in." Vadik assured, walking towards Earl and his departing friend quickly. "Mr. Earl."

Earl didn't need an explanation he new what Vadik wanted since the moment he put stacy inside her own vehicle. The same treatment. So when vadik raised his little arms and smiled so innocently Earl felt he had no real decision here, it was just buckling him in so it wouldn't be so bad would it? How much harm could he get in by that simple gesture? "Sure, swee-Ok." He opted to not use words like sweetie when dealing with Vadik so the Russians naivety didn't get the better of him. "Alright, up we go." immediately Vadik's arms circled his neck and he inhaled deeply which freaked Earl out. "Um, Vadik-Petrov?"

It was so strongly evident on him and fueling a major burning nerve in Vadik. "It reeks on you." complain the Russian, he could feel Vlademar surveying him intently. But he continued, "the stench of that man. Richie."

Hurriedly Earl placed the boy properly in his carseat, trying with much desperation to hide his flushed cheeks and how a little boy's voice that hadn't even hit puberty could sound so dominate. Maybe he was loosing it? After being tucked in Vadik addressed his father respectfully as their car drove off campus.

"Are you serious about that young man, Vadik?" Vlademar started, folding his book close to observe Vadik as the partition seperated them from prying eye's. "You both are male. It's a dangerous play falling for a man like Earl WilkenDale, he's too innocent. Especially from two very different world's it is all more painful." His father stressed further. "Do you remember Kascha and Sethyna? What they went through. What they continue to go through?"

Vadik half-smiled. He understood his father's deeper meaning to his words. Thus he provided a resolution to view. "I'll wait a few year's, But after seventeen. I won't hesitate to have him, but i don't wanna hurt him. Like Lasagna did Sethyna." With Vadik's instructions Vlademar smiled, his little Russian spoke like a true leader.
