I opened my eyes and lay in bed for a moment trying to get my bearings. I was lying in a large king sized bed in a fancy looking room. Double doors opened out on to a balcony overlooking the city and another door led to a large bathroom. I sat up, wincing as my body screamed in protest. I could hear voices and looked to the left to see a door leading to the rest of the hotel room and saw Sasuke sitting at a table, talking on his phone. My memories returned and I remembered that Sasuke had saved me from Sai and taken me back to one of his hotels. Not wanting to disturb him I got up and shuffled over to the bathroom and blasted the hot water before jumping in, sighing in appreciation as it soothed my sore body. From what I could see the places I had been hit were beginning to bruise. When I got out I dried myself and wrapped the towel around my waist, I didn't have any clothes. As I turned to leave I caught my reflection in the mirror and stopped, shocked at what I saw. There were large bruises along my chest and stomach where he had kicked me and bruises around my wrists and arms where he had gripped me. I gingerly poked the finger mark on my wrist as I heard the door open and turned to see Sasuke standing there staring at me, his eyes flickering over my body as if taking in the damage.
"Are you in pain?"
I shook my head, my hand resting on my bruised arm and pushing the events of last night to the back of my mind.
"Not too much, just a few aches."
My voice came out croaky and I saw Sasuke's eyes flash in anger.
"I should kill that bastard for touching you."
I was taken back by the pure anger and blood lust in his voice. Sensing my discomfort he closed his eyes and took a deep breath before holding out his hands. He held some spare clothes.
"I had Jugo fetch these for you. Once you're changed we will have some breakfast and I should get to work."
I nodded and grabbed the clothes off him. He grabbed my arm, gently and avoiding my bruises and placed a kiss on my head.
"I'm sorry I couldn't get there sooner."
I felt my eyes prickle with tears but forced a smile before surprising Sasuke with a kiss.
"Don't be. You saved me."
I closed the door and quickly got changed, suddenly embarrassed when I realised I had been standing all but naked in front of him.
He took me down to the restaurant where we had a buffet breakfast and he introduced me to Jugo, the orange haired giant who was always by his side and a woman with red hair and glasses called Karin. She pulled Sasuke away for a quick discussion as I wolfed down my second plate of bacon. When they both returned Sasuke grabbed his jacket and handed me the room card key.
"I have to get going. If you need anything just have it charged to the room. Feel free to use any of the facilities. Shikamaru isn't back for a few days and the door and windows at your apartment will need to have the locks changed."
"I can stay here with you until then?"
He smiled and leant down to kiss me, ignoring everyone staring at us.
"I shouldn't be too late with work today. You have my number if you need anything don't hesitate to call. Get some rest, if you have to go anywhere I will have Jugo take you."
"I could go myself."
Sasuke shook his head.
"I want you safe. Can you do this for me? Can you stay here?"
I pursed my lips but Sai's face popped into my mind and I sighed.
"Okay."
"Good."
