I woke up to the smell of bacon. I shuffled out to the kitchen, my body still a little stiff. I stopped when I saw a stranger with his back to me, his hair silver and spikey. I made to turn around and run back into the room when I saw orange in the corner of my eye and Jugo stood up with a smile from the table.
"Don't worry Naruto he is one of Sasuke's trusted men."
The man in question turned around and smiled at me, he had an eye patch over one eye and his mess of silver hair was worse than my own bed hair.
"Hey there Naruto, my name is Kakashi, I will be your body guard from today on."
I raised an eye brow in question as he placed a plate of bacon and eggs on the table and my stomach gave an embarrassing rumble in hunger.
"Eat and we will explain."
I moved to the table and Jugo slid a glass of fresh orange juice over to me.
"Sasuke can't be by your side to protect you and he doesn't want you to get involved in his dangerous side of his life more than you are, hence he assigned Kakashi to watch over you. He was Sasuke's teacher when he was younger and Kakashi himself was apprentice to the previous boss."
I nodded in understanding as I wolfed down the food. I was still unsure on how to handle the fact that my boyfriend was in the mafia. It just didn't seem real. I was afraid to ask what he did, if he had killed people or hurt them. I had grown up on the streets and the slums when I was younger after leaving my horrible foster family so I knew that without the mafia running organised crime the streets would be more dangerous than they were but it still worried me. Could we really be together when he had such a dark life? I realised Jugo was talking again so I pulled myself out of my thoughts.
"-and to protect you from Sai."
My stomach dropped at the mention of the pale man.
"We haven't been able to track him down so even when you go back home, which we changed all the locks and updated your security with Shikamaru's approval, Kakashi will still keep watch over you."
I felt a twinge of irritation at the thought that this stranger would be near me at all times but I understood why Sasuke did it, he just wanted to make sure I was safe. Jugo pulled on his jacket and took a swig of the coffee cup in front of him.
"I have to get back to Sasuke, we have a lot of work to do today so he might not be able to get back here until tonight. Kakashi can take you anywhere you want to go if you need to get out today."
He left and I glanced at Kakashi as the silver haired man tidied up the kitchen, humming to himself as he did. I finished my food and handed him the plate before going back into the room to have a shower and get changed. When I came out Kakashi was sitting on the balcony reading a book, completely ignoring me. I sat down on the couch and turned on the television, flicking through the channels, not really watching anything. After a while I turned it off with a sigh and leant back on the chair.
"Did you want to go out?"
I looked up at the voice to see Kakashi standing at the balcony door, his book tucked away in his jacket pocket. His one dark grey eye was studying me and I felt a little self-conscious. As if sensing it he smiled encouragingly at me.
"Sorry, you just remind me of the old master, he had the same type of hair. His was pretty spiky too."
He laughed as I blushed and tried to flatten my hair. I looked at the clock, it was only just past ten.
"I suppose I could go home and get some clothes, and maybe some books."
"We can go shopping if you want, Sasuke left me a card for you to use."
