-Chapter 7: Tour-

Breakfast consisted of a whole roasted chicken, taken from the dragons' own food stores, and cooked by Faelius with his own flame breath. Despite my own set of doubts, it actually tasted quite good.

My request for either cereal or rice was met with an amused snort from the dragon, who pointed out that they only ate meat, which meant that there was no point in keeping anything else, for it would be a waste of space. Finding no counterargument possible, I ended nodding then eating.

Of course, even with my voracious appetite, I could not finish the whole bird, and ended up only eating half, much to the amusement of the dragon, who then promptly ate the remnants along with several more which he conveniently flamed then tossed into his maw with much gusto.

At some point, Draco joined us and began eating too.

I was thankful for the fact that they were eating outside my bedroom, as they soon began to make a huge mess, with meat and offal literally flying all over the place. It was quite amusing up till the point where I was smacked in the face by a chicken leg. After which, it became disgusting and I retreated back into the room before more projectiles could fly my way.

Once done, Faelius poked his head into the room, where I was sitting around and playing games on my phone, for a lack of a better thing to do. After loudly announcing that he and Draco had had a glorious meal, he skittered over to watch. He somewhat reminded me of my baby cousins, who would do the same, for they loved to watch me play games, only that they would also pester me to no end about borrowing the phone to give the game a shot.

At least Faelius, and now, Draco too both had the decency not to badger me to let them try the game. Instead, they pummelled me with questions instead, both about the device and the game that I was playing, which happened to be a racing game.

After I won the virtual race, Faelius insisted that he would give me a tour of the whole area, saying that I would need to find my own way around eventually, and that he had something to show me...

My only protest was that the place was huge, and the fact that there was still a streak of grease and dragon saliva on my cheek where the chicken hit me.

The complaints were dealt with soon enough with a quick cleaning spell, and an insistence that I'd ride on Faelius's back once he took on his quadrupled form. Of course, there were no alternatives, and I had to say yes.

I was carried around the warehouse, which mostly consisted of multi-storey dragon dwellings, which were something like flats, but much bigger. My bedroom turned out to be part of Faelius's own dwelling, whose interior was built to resemble a large cave, whose sides were composed of granite, and in the middle, a large flat space for him to sleep on, a fire burning in a niche and what looked like a desk and chair.

However, the exteriors of each and every dwelling was just whitewashed walls, which was probably a way of saving on magic probably, as well as saving space, as each enclosure was roughly rectangular in shape, and had been stacked on top of each other, with aisles between each 'block' of enclosures, much like in a block of flats. When asked, I was told that the design had been inspired by just that.

The light in the entire area was provided by what literally looked like floating balls of light, each giving out enough lumens to rival even the high yield LEDs that us humans had...

As we walked past block after block, I began to wonder if the space in this place was infinite...

Then, as my thoughts chugged along, I began to realise that I was in a rather unique situation. Physiologically, I was human, through and through. However, in spirit, if what I had 'seen' was anything to go by, I was a dragon to the core. In essence, I could no longer call one side 'my people' and another 'newcomers'. Literally put, I belonged to both groups...
