In that instant, I realized it was I who reaped, and now it was time to sow.
I gazed at the dangerously attractive male figure. The one and only person I had ever considered gentle and free; careless. His mask hid him so well. I thought he was good— in a sense.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
"Take me away from here," I demanded softly.
His smoldering silvers locked onto my greens. "You wanted to run away from it all. I helped you, and now that you know truth, you want to run away from this?"
"It's too much. I didn't know it all came at a price like this," I heard my voice quiver as he neared, closing the distance between us. "You're not who I thought you were..."
His inhuman eyes gave nothing away. "This was going to happen regardless. You can't run, and you can't hide. You have to face it; the life you knew is over. This is who you are."
And the reality of it all came crashing down.
Everything he said was a lie, everything he I knew about him...was a lie.
Before I could take a step back, he grabbed my face with his hands, forcing me to, once again, look into those wicked eyes. The intensity had me breathless. Despite knowing how dangerous he was, I couldn't help my body's reaction to his closeness.
Sensing my body's betrayal, he gifted me a familiar mischievous smile, before saying, "Sleep."
Darkness engulfed my senses, and I was now in a timeless void of temporary bliss.
