Chapter 4

"Daryl wait!" Beth yelled. Daryl ignored her and kept on walking. Beth caught up to him and grabbed his hand. "Daryl stop." Beth said. Daryl stared at her then looked at their joined hands. Beth blushed and let go of his hand. "What's wrong? Your dad is alive and well and you aren't happy about it." Daryl didn't say anything just looked down. He didn't say anything for awhile until he looked at Beth. "Fine but you can't tell anyone." Beth nodded her head. "Beth promise me, please." "I promise." Beth said. "Ok when I was little my dad always came home drunk, he was a mean drunk and always beat me, Merle and my mom." Daryl stopped and took a deep breathe. "It's ok, you don't have to say anything." "No it's alright. Well Merle left and it got worse." "Hey you got away from it." "Yeah but it's come back to haunt me." "He ain't gonna hurt you, you're better than him stronger." Daryl nodded. They say in silence when Merle came walking down the hall. "I'm gonna leave you two alone." Beth said and left. "Hey baby brother." Merle said. Daryl could tell he wasn't happy about his dad either. How could he not, their dad made their life horrible. "You alright." Merle asked. Daryl shook his head no. "Hey if we are lucky he won't last." Merle said. Daryl chuckled. "I've missed you baby brother." "I've missed you too Merle." "Alright enough of this mushy stuff let's talk about that girl. Beth was it?" "Nothing is going on between me and Beth, we're just friends." Daryl said. "Ok baby brother." Merle said smirking. Carol came by and sat by Merle. "Hey, you two alright?" "Yeah we'll be fine." Merle answered for Daryl. Daryl nodded his head but he didn't know if he was gonna be ok. Merle and Carol left and Daryl went to find Beth. She was writing in her journal on her bed with her hair wet. "Hey." Beth said looking up from her journal. "Mm." He said. "They put your dad in another cell block."  Daryl nodded his head. "It's  gonna be ok." "I know it will, just need someone to keep reminding me."  Beth sighed. "Come here." She said. He stared at her for a minute then walked over too her and laid down beside her. She put her back too him and he draped an arm over her. "Can you sing for me?" Daryl asked. "Ok." When Daryl and Beth were alone he always asked her to sing for him, so she did.

Daryl listened too her sing and closed his eyes.
Her singing put him at piece, knowing she is there puts him at piece.

Beth looked over at Daryl when she was finished. He was asleep. She smiled and kissed him on the head. "G'night Daryl." She whispered and closed her eyes.

Dear readers,

I'm not putting the governor in this story, I never really liked him of course no body did buuut. The song I used was Sad Song by We The Kings. I liked that song because it breathed Daryl and Beth for me so yeah! Anyways I hope you liked it.
