He was born from Zues, and as a young boy, his stature, along with his apetite, was tremendous. He had dark brown hair and the most gray eyes imaginable. As a boy he outsmarted all of his peers. If other boys and girls his age were playing castle, he was strategizing over war tactics. Everything about him was above and beyond his years. He was outcast by his so-called "friends" early on.
He spent his childhood with his nose buried deep in a war book, and preferred that it stayed that way. He had always loved history, even though none of his family were keen on the subject. But he wasn't like the rest of the young gods. He was one in a milion.
She, on the other hand, wasn't. Her name was one that few knew and fewer spoke. Her hair was dirty blonde, and her eyes a faded blue. She was just a commoner in the city of Greece. She spent her childhood years learning about horses, and hoping to one day own one. She was a quick learner, and she learned everything she knew from books. It was a warm, maybe too warm summer day when she saw him.

My mother was a happy woman. She worked hard to provide for her and I, but she loved life. Her warm smile and caring glance were her trademark in the world.
I was trudging along behind her to meet up with our neighbors in the square. Our neighbors are an older couple, both very hardworking, but they have a beautiful outlook on life.
I almost stopped in my tracks when I saw a young-looking man, undoubtedly a god, standing with them.
He turned around, smiled, and I swear the sky shattered into a million pieces. Because, my world has never been the same since that day.
