Chapter 2

Serifina's POV

The next day Airi and I went to school as normal and first and second period practically flew by. So, we went to lunch and sat in our normal spot before the entire cafeteria fell quiet for a moment before whispers started erupting from all directions. I looked to see what the cause of this was and when I looked towards the entrance I saw six guys entering the cafeteria. Unfortunately, two of them were the ones I saw yesterday that were staring at us, I know Airi said that they probably weren't but she didn't feel their gaze like I did and I even made eye contact at one point. I just hope that Airi was right and they weren't actually hunters. Normally she's great at sensing this stuff but with all that goalie gear you do have to wonder. So, as they all entered the two guys leading the group looked at our table and winked before the group went to the vacant table next to ours. At this I looked at Airi and she looked just as dismayed as me before we gave each other a look and decided to leave after telling our friends that we were going to eat lunch at home to avoid the pathetic rumors that will probably start about the new guys. But as we were rounding the table Airi stopped making me run into her before I said "Hey! Why did you stop?" Before I looked a put front of her to see her path blocked by the new guy that was out front of the group that had come in and she said "Are you fucking kidding me Dick head? Watch where you're going next time!" As I glanced over her shoulder to see why she was so mad and saw a tilted tray and the schools spaghetti all over her top. She then tried to push past him and I followed as he grabbed her shoulder and turned her towards him and said in a deep voice "Do you even know who your talking to?" With a glare at her making her push him off as she said in a sarcastic tone "No, and I don't care who you are, just stay out of my way asshole" As she walked off making me step away from him with the dark look he got as I quickly followed her into the parking lot. She quickly got us in the car and after five minutes of driving she said "can you believe that guy? Saw right when I was going to leave and happened to step there at the same time as me, what a jerk. Although, it did give me a chance to test him while he was distracted, there is no way he's a hunter he doesn't have the mark on his wrist" and I smiled before before I thought for a second and asked in confusion "wait then why do they keep staring at us, face it I know you noticed it too today" before she agreed with me as we pulled up into her driveway and she said "Hey, I got to go take a shower, you coming to my practice again today?" And I sighed and said "I can't I told my mom I'd get some laundry done after school today" And she said "ok, hang out later in the woods? I feel like doing some spells" And I said "yeah, sure" before I walked to my house.

Later after Airi's practice was over she texted me to meet her in our spot so I told my mom I'd be back and left out the back to go into the woods. When I got to our spot Airabella was sitting on the stump with her back turned to me and I said "Hey, so what spells did you want to do, you usually plan more before you actually cast anything" And she looked at me and said "I want to do a protection spell on us that will ward off anyone who could mean us harm. Those guys may not be hunters but I didn't like how they looked at us and I know you're not much of a fighter in less you're pissed so I just think it is for the best" And I sighed and said "I'm not that weak, but fine if it'll make you feel better" As I sat down on the branch I made curve and grow to next to the stump. And she said good and told me to hold her hand while she started chanting and I watched her focus and glow for a moment before saying "ok, I'm done" And I let go and said "ok, so how was practice?" And she looked at me and rolled her eyes as she said "the imbeciles from lunch were across from us for football practice" And I said sarcastically "great, did they suck as bad as the rest of them?" Before she looked at me and thought for a second before she said "no, actually they weren't that bad, they definitely had to have been on the team at their old school" And I said "huh, maybe our team will actually have a chance this year then" And she said" yeah", and looked down. But right then we heard a twig snap behind us.
