Mates? I don't think so!

Chapter 16

Serifina's POV:
I woke up the next morning and got ready for school. I left the house bypassing Airibella's house and continued to the walk to school. Our fight had been justified and I understand why she's mad as we've talked about it before but, I also think she doesn't understand why I did it. During our fight I told her I could feel his pain, I don't think she understood I meant literally. When fairies look into an animals eyes we can feel the pain they are in so we know if they need help. Shifters apply to that as their inner animals have the same characteristics as normal animals but they feel the a lot of the same pain as their human halves. Especially when it comes to mates, in which they hurt so much more.
I decided to stop thinking about the fight because I knew I wasn't really mad at Airi, but I wasn't sure I could say the same thing about her. I plugged in my music as I realized that even if I'm not mad I didn't really want to see her this morning as I realized seeing her might just frustrate me again and I could accidentally say something in school that I shouldn't.  So, I just cranked up my music higher as I walked the rest of the way to school.
When I got there I dropped my books off in my first period which was still empty and decided to walk around school as people were gradually filling the halls. Meanwhile, I was skillfully avoiding the areas Airi and I would usually be in.
I wandered into class a minute before the bell and walked to my seat to my seat with my headphones still in and pulled out my stuff for class. I could tell Dylan was staring at me but I decided to ignore him and kept working. Since I was already ahead on the research paper we were all working on it only took me the first half of class to finish it so I printed it and turned it in before returning to my seat and turning my headphones back up as I picked a song to listen to. I stole a glance at Dylan's work and noticed his was almost completed as well but he hadn't worked on it the whole time we've been here. As his gaze was still fixed on me I decided to pull up Google and typed "How do I get the guy next to me to stop staring at me like a stalker?" And I saw him look down with a quick smirk before returning to his expectant face that morphed into one of determination. A second after I cleared the search bar to type something else I felt a tap on my shoulder and I glanced at him before rolling my eyes and going back to the screen. I felt a tugging on my headphones until they both fell out and I said "Hey!" And went to put them back in but saw that my phone and headphones were both residing in Dylan's hand as he was staring at me with his arms crossed.
He looked at me expectantly as I said "May I please have those back?"  And he said "not in till you say something, you've been ignoring me all class" and I said "I've been working, now give me back my stuff, there that's something" and he was about to respond when our teacher came over and said "Dylan you need to finish your work and stop bothering Serifina" and he opened his mouth to respond but seemed to think better of it and turned his chair back around a typed for a moment while still not giving me my stuff to which I said "Give me my stuff now please" to which he ignored me and we ran out of time and the bell rang so I said "Ok, Fine, you explain to my mom why I won't answer" and left for my next class leaving him shocked. I new he was trying to get me to hang back even though and I can live without my phone and I left it anyway... I'm so going to get yelled at. I sat in my normal spot in Government and smiled at Airi to let her know we were ok and she whispered to me "why aren't you answering you're phone I've been trying to talk to you all day" and I said "An idiot took it" and she nodded. She asked if I needed a ride home and I accepted gratefully as it had started to pour outside.
When we got back to her house I asked her if I could borrow her phone to text my mom and she said "sure, do you want to get yours back?" To which I said "nah, let's think he has me going for a day, you can proof it back tomorrow" to which she shrugged and said "OK" and we kept talking for a while.

Airabella's POV

I did not see Fina all morning it did not help that i got to school late. When I got into class Mason was sitting at my table so I gave my friends a look and parked my ass next to the football players at the next table. Mason stood up and walked over to me but right before he could get to me i moved back to my normal seat placing my bag where the only open seat was and the rest of the girls did the same. He came back over to us and just looked at the bags asking the girls to move their stuff so that he could sit after ignoring him multiple times when he asked he finally just picked my my bag up and set it by my feet as he sat down. The teacher handed out packets telling us that they had to be done by the end. I just zoned in on my work and ignored everything around me. 

"So Bella we are planning if the harvest festival during lunch today we were wondering if you could stop by and talk about the hay ride and some other activities that you and your aunt normally run." Brandi says to me pulling me out of my zone.

"Um maybe not today but, if you guys are meeting later in the week I should be able to come I have to go home and finish my English project today." I say to her. 

"Yeah, that's fine. I will tell everybody today, I think we are meeting at lunch one other day this week. I will let you know, other than that we are meeting after school every day starting tomorrow." she tells me.

"Hey I am your partner on that project are we meeting today? I have practice but I could come over after that or you could come over mine and we could work on it." Mason says to me. All I do is look at him and continue my work for another ten minutes before the bell rings. As I walk out of the class I barley hear Mason say he will stop by my house after practice. 

 Once we got back to the house Fina pulled out some work while I got on the computer to make the presentation for English. We made a little bit of small talk.

"OK so what's the plan?" Fina asked me.

"Well my plan was to ignore them unless we have to acknowledge them, like now I just finished the stuff for English and I am gonna send it to Mason and the teacher so that we no longer have to work together." I tell her while hitting send on my computer. After finishing our work we put in a movie and I dozed off.

Mason's POV

I walked into school with Dylan ready to go see Bella in first period. Dylan and I shared a look then went our separate ways. When I got to class Bella was not there yet so I sat down at the table. When she came in she sat down with part of the football team I know she is not happy about what happened yesterday but normally she would just tell me to move. When I got up to go talk to her she just moved seats and bags when at the last open seat. I ask the girls to move their bags and they do but I have to put Bella's down by her feet. While the girls where talking during class she says something about finishing the project and ignores me when I suggested what time to work on it.
After practice I go over the Bella's house and knock on the door. Serifina answers the door.
"What do you want?" She asks me.
"I came to work on the project. Where is Bella?" I respond.
"She's asleep. Now go home and check your email, she already finished the project and sent it in to your teacher. Now just leave her alone already.Take a hint." she says to me closing the door in my face.

The girls continued to ignore Dylan and I for two weeks.
