Hiccup's POV
It was morning and Kaitlyn wasn't in the bed. I saw something on my desk. I got up and walked over to my desk. I saw a note and it read:
Hiccup,
Gred is coming towards Berk for me and Grey. So, we left. I love you! I sure do love you, dork! I will be back in two years, I promise. I left you my cloak so you won't forget me.
Kaitlyn
I could see where she was crying when she wrote this. I noticed new water marks on there. I reached up to my eyes and I noticed I was crying. I fell to my knees with Kaitlyn's cloak in my hands.
I sobbed into her cloak.
I didn't know how long I sat there and cried. I knew I didn't stop until I was throwing up.
I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. The door opened and it was Dad.
"Hiccup...?" he asked.
"She... She left to... to keep us sa... safe," I sobbed out and handed him the note. He read it and looked at me.
"One thing I do know is that so far Kaitlyn hasn't broken a promise and if she says she will be back in two years then she'll be back in two years," he said, rubbing my back.
Stoick's POV
I knew what he was going through. After Valka was taken, I didn't leave the house for two months. I sat in my house and took care of my son.
I got up and walked out so he could be alone to process what had happened.
