Wow it's been over a year since I updated this, so that's kind of sad...
Alpha's POV
I barged into the pack house, sending the random wolves scattering towards their previously abandoned rooms.
"Did you not find her?" Jack, my Beta, asked. I growled lowly in response.
"Of course, I fucking found her. I'm the damn Alpha. She got away." His look was blank, void of emotion.
"Well, you are the 'damn Alpha,' I'm assuming that she only got away because you let her." I heard the sass from his tone and growled again, softer this time.
"So the question is...," he continued, "Why?"
"I need to know what wolf pack she's from, what kind of Luna I'm dealing with. The girl obviously has history with these games, I don't need to just capture her and for her to become volatile around the rest of the pack." Jack looked at me for a second then turned around and started to walk further into the house, towards the Alpha's quarters.
"And, why would we find the answers in my Suite, Beta?" I asked gruffly.
He turned. "The Book, it has the information of every female wolf in the games for the season. It tells us which pack they're from, their parents, their likes and dislikes, has pictures. Formally, and quite morbidly, it's meant to help ID the bodies...in case they become torn apart somehow. Some pack leaders can become cruel when disposing of some needed wolves, although The Book isn't used often, that I'm aware of."
I stared at him, bewildered. "And how would you know this? Even I wasn't aware of it. Did I miss something when entering the Arena?"
He looked away, back towards the bedroom, and gestured for me to follow.
"I have to wish to be Alpha, I'll gladly leave that to you. But my oldest brother was one of the bad ones, let's just say, he used the book often during his time in the Arena. You would have found it before this conversation, if you had taken the time to even go into your room instead of running around like a wild man."
I snarled.
"Growl all you want, I'm going to call you out on your shit constantly. Either get used to it or kill me." He smirked and gestured to a large black book that was laying ominously on the foot of my bed. I flipped through, and like he had said there was a record of every female in the games, and I found mine towards the end of the list.
"Paige Reynolds, there she is." I stared at her in awe, her picture was uniform and unhappy, like the girls in the other pictures, taken right before entering the Arena. Most of them had the right to be scared, I didn't blame them. Us males were fighting for rank, but they were literally fighting for their lives.
"For fucks sake..." I hear Jack whisper under his breathe.
"What?" I ask.
He looked up at me. "This is the child of Chloe and Cooper." I stared at him blankly.
"You can't tell me your pack hasn't told you the story of the two mated Alphas?"
"You mean, the Alpha and the Luna?" I gave him a questioning look, two Alpha's couldn't mate, Alpha's can only mate with Luna's.
"No, Alpha. Chloe was an Alpha, and she claimed Cooper in the old Mating Tournament. Paige, is a child of TWO ALPHA's."
I looked back towards the book, ad stared at the face of the woman who my wolf had chosen me to be mated with the rest of my life.
"I'm mated the the child of the two people who basically created these entire fucking games?!"
Jack laughed and my head whipped so fast in his directionI almost got whiplash.
"Dude, you're so screwed."
