We come to a stop in front of an old, run-down, beat up shack. The door is hanging slanted by one hinge. The windows are no longer windows, simply shattered glass. It was completely dark inside, not a single light. We get out of the truck and walk toward the shack, coming to a stop about halfway there. Just as I'm thinking how abandoned and torn up this place looks, a bundle of weeds and trash rolls along in front of the shack, blown by the wind as if it were a tumbleweed.

"You can not be serious? This is where your friend lives?" I ask Josh incredulously."How can someone with so many gadgets and gismos and food and money to spare live here?"

"Does he live at this location, yes. Does he live here, at this shack, technically, no." Josh answers, as if it completely makes sense and trudges on.

".....Huh?" I say, pausing and just staring after him and then speaking shortly. He looks back at me and smirks.

" Just come on, Pea brain."

"Hey, that's not very nice..."

"Well what am I supposed to call you, Flower girl? You won't let me call you anything else.."

"Oh, please no.."

"Huh.. Flower girl.. Has a nice ring to it don't you think?" Josh says, stopping with a thoughtful yet smirky look.

"No, Josh, it doesn't. My name is Lily. Why cant you just call me Lily? You know, my actual name?" I say, placing a hand on my forehead.

"All the more reason to call you Flower girl." He says, spreading out his arms. "Lily is a flower. See? It fits you. Plus, you're a priss, so..." He has a smirk as he turns away, knowing what my reaction will be.

"Am not!" I say, hitting him in the arm. He looks over his shoulder and smirks at me. A small smile tries to shimmy its way across my mouth.

"Shut up." I say, giving into the smile.

" I didn't say anything!" He smiles. " But it is funny how you hate me so much and yet I can make you smile so easily."

" I.. dont hate you... anymore." I mumble. He gasps.

" What's that Lily Barker?"

" You heard me."

" No I didnt."

" Yes you did." I protest and he laughs.

" Lily Barker no longer hates Josh Woods? " He asks, faking incredulousness."My my my, pigs have flone." I push him and he chuckles, but then he gives me that smile.

"Don't do that." I say.

"Do what?" He asks, still giving me that smile.

"Smile at me like that."

"Like what? I'm not smiling at you any certain way." He says, but he has to turn away, as we enter the building cuz his smile just gets bigger and I can tell he doesn't want me to see. I scoff.

"Sure, Josh. Suuure..."

He turns back and shows his closed smile, but not his full out grin that I knew he wore when he had to turn away. I smile back playfully. He turns away and after a moment as we continue walking, he says "..... Pea brain..."

We walk through the shack and have to step over fallen beams and duck under huge cobwebs. We walk down some stairs into a dark area. One time, Josh told me to watch my step but it didn't register before I almost fell through a spot where a step was missing. He caught me and we locked eyes for a second and I swear there was something there, and not hate.
