chapter 4

*after a few hours*

"So. Day 2. huh? what are we gonna do?" I asked Laura smiling.

"Firstly, youre gonna buy my ice cream." She giggled and then stood up from her bed, "and then we are gonna go fetch our boxes. Alright?"

I nodded my head yes, "yeah of course." I was really happy that i got this stupid letter outta the box before we opened them together.
"Incredible that you still remember the thing with the ice. I hoped you would have forgotten it."

"How could I!" Laura had this incredible sweet laugh which warmed my heart so much.

I just laughed along and watched her standing in front of her mirror, putting her hair in a messy ponytail.

"Lets go?" She said and smiled.

I nodded and stood up as well, walked after her outta the door. When we walked down the stairs, her dad suddenly shouted from the kitchen (i think) "Laura, can you go the supermarket for me?" Then he walked to us to the stairs and saw me.

"Ross?" Lauras farther started smiling, "oh my god, i cant believe it. how long has it been?! let me take a look at you, son!"

I chuckled and went a step closer to him, "nice to see you again, sir. after 10 years."

Damanio smiled at me and punched me playful, "dont call me sir, how old am i?" He laughed warm.

"Why are you here in Southport?"

Lauras dad always has been like a farther to me, a second one. this family in general was a second one for me.

"Im here because of Laura." I smiled and turned to her short.

"yeah, apropos laura. Dad, what do you want from the supermarket? we wanna go." Laura said friendly and smiling light.

"Right, sorry." Damiano looked at Laura and then at me, "im glad youre here." Then he patted my shoulder and walked to the kitchen and fetched a note, gave it to Laura.

"here, a few little things." He smirked over to me when he opened his purse and short later gave laura the money for the things he needed.

"Dad! this is much more money than i'll need!" Laura said suddenly.

"no, i think it's alright." He winked at her and went to the living room, "have fun, you two."

Laura still standing there looked so shocked but at the same time so happy. I chuckled and took her arm, pulled her out, "Goodbye Mr. Marano!" Then i closed the door and started walking with her.

"Ross, this is at least $60 more than we'll need! why did he gave it to me?" Laura whispered to me.

I laughed, "maybe he wants you to buy some good clothes." I looked over at her seeing her with a dropped mouth-smiling face.

"should this mean my clothes arent good enough for you?!"

"Eeehh.." I said and laughed when she punched me lightly, "no just kidding. the clothes youre wearing are as beautiful as you. but maybe he wants you to buy something you like?"

Laura thought short and then shrugged, "I'll just keep it for later, firstly YOU are gonna buy for something."

I rolled my eyes, "you really want that ice cream, am i right?" I smiled big and it was a real smile. It felt so good to be here with her.

It was like we never left, like we never were apart. There still was this strong connection between us.

"okay lets go." i said after she nodded.
