3. The Heir To Olympus

KATE

After an hour of flying Annabeth had fallen asleep again, much her pegasus' dismay.

I had Pegasus pull back to Percy so we were flying side by side. "Whats wrong with Annabeth?" I asked.

"She hasn't been sleeping well lately. She gets bad nightmares." He answered.

"Oh."

We were quiet for a few minutes until, "Who are you?" He asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you're clearly older than 13, so you must have been claimed, but you don't seem tied to one god. And, Annabeth might claim that i'm blind, but i can tell that you used Charmspeak on me when we were on the train. Also, i wasn't the one who made that bubble around us in the lake. That was you. So how can you do that? I mean, as far as i know, Charmspeak is an Aphrodite thing, and water control is definitely Poseidon. So who are you?"

"You're smarter than you look. It seems that Annabeth has rubbed off on you."

"Thanks but that doesn't answer my question."

"Trust me Percy, you won't believe me until you hear my story. And i don't intend to tell it more than once so you will have to wait until we get to camp." I told him. He looked ready to argue but Pegasus pulled us away from him and he gave up, pulling back to fly beside Annabeth.

Several hours passed and it was now daylight. Annabeth was still asleep but Percy stayed awake. He looked to be deep in thought and would steal glances at me when he thought i wasn't looking.

"Breakfast would be over at this point." He said, pulling up beside me again.

The camp appeared as we crossed the barrier. "Wake her. Chiron will want a conference when we land." I told him. This time he just nodded and did not question, Although he looked confused when i mentioned Chiron.

ANNABETH

Percy woke me up as we landed next to the big house. When we dismounted, Kate handed the pegasi a small bag each then they flew off.

Chiron meet us on the porch of the big house. "I have gathered some of the more senior campers and counselors in the meeting room. We are eager to hear your story Kate."

"Thank you Chiron. I wish i could say that i'm eager to tell it." She responded.

We all walked inside to the ping pong table where the meetings were held. Sitting around it were Conner and Travis Stoll, Clarisse, Will Solace, Nico, Leo, Piper, Jason, Frank, and Hazel, along with three empty seats.

I took the first seat next to Piper and Percy sat beside me. Kate took the empty chair at the head of the table across from where Chiron sat, now compacted into his wheelchair.

We were silent for a while until Clarisse spoke up, "Who the Hades is this girl and why did i have to miss breaking in the newbies for this."

I thought Chiron would answer her but it was Kate. "Show some respect, Daughter of Ares, you are not in a position to challenge me." She spoke calmly but strongly.

Clarisse stood up, no angry. "How dare you! You just challenged a child of the god of war!"

Kate stood to face Clarisse who was less than a foot away. I looked to Chiron, ready to stop this. It wasn't a fair fight! Clarisse was easily a foot taller than Kate and was visibly stronger. But Chiron gave me a look that told me not to interfere.

I turned my attention back to the two girls. Kate looked up at Clarisse and she started changing. Kate grew taller and more muscular. Her hair and features changed until she matched Clarisse. Me and the other demigods sat in shock. Kate had become a perfect copy of Clarisse. They even glared the same way. Even Frank looked stunned.
