KATE

Last night was worse than usual. Sure it was still the hellhounds and, him. But last night he killed me. I still didn't know how. All i knew was that his magic could make the injuries in my dream appear in reality, but they always went away when i woke up. And i never thought he could go this far.

I had avoided telling them all this time. I knew Percy found the book. I was careless with hiding it. So it was bound to happen. He was doing everything but mentioning it directly, to get me to talk about it yesterday. I didn't have to be a child of Athena to know that. I had hoped that he would give up his search. But after last night there was no way.

The seven and Will had stayed the night in my cabin to make sure nothing else happened. But i wouldn't give him the chance. I didn't sleep the rest of the night.

It was still dark but the sun would rise soon, of that i was sure. Leo had woken a couple of hours ago to tinker with some objects out of his toolbelt but Piper had stopped him by hitting him with her pillow.

I looked out the window and the sun was just starting to rise.

Perfect. I thought. It was about an hour before the campers would start to wake up and two before breakfast. This was the time when i left every morning.

Being a daughter of Poseidon, the sea called to me. Pulling me in like the tide. I tiptoed around the cabin, careful not to wake the sleeping campers taking up the extra bunks. And opened the door. I cringed when it creaked slightly but no one moved.

I slipped outside and breathed in the air. I walked towards the beach until i was away from the cabins. Then i felt my body form. Closer to the ground and power building behind my limbs. My favorite animal form, a leopard.

I took off. Running felt free. I felt alive. I ended up on a piece of secluded beach that my dad had told me was here. The campers didn't know about it and neither did Chiron, at least not to the knowledge of Poseidon.

I just kept running along the beach. The waves would push to me and try to drag me into their dark depths. I loved this. All that time i was in Tartarus this was what i missed most. Running along the waves and pushing the limits of my abilities. Making the waves swell beyond their natural limits. When i lived on Olympus, Apollo would join me. We would race and i would win every time. He always claimed he let me win, but his heavy breathing said otherwise.

But then a sound broke through my paradise. Every time. I thought as a cyclops broke the forest line and ran towards me screaming "Kitty!" I ran. Maybe i could lose it.

FRANK

"Wake up! She's gone!" Piper said throwing pillows on all of us.

"How did she get out without us knowing?" Hazel asked.

"I don't know but we have to find her." Percy answered.

Annabeth took control. "Hazel, Piper search the cabins. Jason and Leo, check the other buildings. Percy and i will check the woods. And Frank, search from the air." We all nodded and left.
