"Lucy, I'm only going to say this once, okay? I think Patrick really likes you, but I don't want to see you get hurt again."
Lucy looks at Emma and sighs, "I know, Em, but I just feel so alive with him. There's no way he's going to hurt me."
"I'm not saying he's going to hurt you. What if his lifestyle isn't what you want? What if the press finds out? You see what happens to other girls when they start dating somebody famous..." Emma trails off, tucking her feet under her and leaning sideways on the couch to get a better look at Lucy.
"Emma, honestly, right now all I want is to be with Patrick. Everything else can be figured out together." Lucy throws her arm over her face and sinks down lower into the couch.
Emma groans, 'Why did she have to fall so hard, so fast?'.
"Okay, if that's what you want, I am with you one hundred percent. But don't say we didn't talk about it."
Lucy opens her mouth to reply but Pete comes through the door interrupting.
"Girls, are you ready for the most amazing after party of your lives?" he practically screams, jumping up and down with excitement.
Lucy and Emma look at each other. Emma's face lights up with excitement at the prospect of a party. Lucy just stares at her for a few moments, debating whether or not this would be a good idea.
"Emma, you know what happens if I drink," Lucy whispers so only her best friend can hear.
Emma flashes back to Lucy at a college party taking shots and dancing on a table, "I don't think it will get that far. Besides maybe you need to let loose a little bit."
Pete grins at them, "You won't regret it, I promise."
"Somehow I doubt that... But fine. Let's go party!" Lucy shouts with exaggerated joy.
"The others are waiting by the car," Pete says as he leads them to the sleek black SUVs waiting for them.
"Lucy!" Patrick says excitedly as she nears him.
"Hey, Patrick," she replies shyly.
"You can sit with us in this car if you want," he opens the door for her.
"Okay, as long as I'm sitting next to you," Lucy replies with a grin as she gets in.
He slides in next to her and puts his arm around her shoulders, pulling her slightly closer, "If I have my way, you'll always sit next to me."
'That sounds kinda creepy, Patrick,' he thinks to himself but quickly forgets that when Lucy puts her hand on his thigh.
"I think I could like that," she says, giving his leg a soft squeeze.
Patrick feels his erection growing and hopes Lucy doesn't notice.
"Oh, hey, looks like I'm sitting next to you," Emma says as she gets in beside Patrick.
"Why do you sound so disappointed?" Lucy asks, already knowing the answer.
"Because, Patrick is not Joe," Emma grumbles.
Patrick laughs and shakes his head, "I will never understand girls. I'm sure you'll see plenty of Joe at the club."
"Speaking of the club, I assume it's a public one?" Emma asks, looking at Lucy pointedly.
Patrick, busy checking his phone, misses the look. "Hmm? Yeah, but we have the VIP section rented out and it's probably not that busy."
"Wouldn't it put a damper on things though if, oh, I don't know, if somebody happened to see you and Lucy grinding or making out or something? I mean what if they tell the press?" Emma presses, ignoring all glares and motions to be silent from Lucy.
