Chapter 4 ♦ Powerless

Danielle's POV

"I am sorry to tell you this but... Queen Bloom is dying."

"What?" I ask barely above a whisper

"Queen Bloom got sick. Everyone thought it was just the common flu but she got weaker and weaker. The doctors say she was poisoned." Lucia explained

"I never should have left...I should never have left." I whisper to my self

"We have to go to mom," Daniel says

"We should use the portal, it's much faster than the air ship," Daniella says and Lucia nods and she opens a portal.

"We're coming with you," Felisha said and I nodded. We all went through the portal and ended up at the gates of the palace. I started to run to my mother's bedroom as fast as I can with the others trailing behind me. I get to the bedroom doors and push them. Inside I see my mother on the bed with her eyes closed and by her side a doctor and my father holding her hand crying.

"Daddy?" I ask and he turns my direction.

"Danielle? What are you doing here? Where are your brother and sister?" He asked and he came to hug me

"They're here. They were just behind me." And on cue, my siblings and the others burst through the door.

"Daddy is mom OK?" Daniella asks

"Your mother has been poisoned by a very rare plant. I might be able to find a cure for your mother but it will take time... and time is the only thing we don't have. It's like we are powerless." He says with his head down

"So basically what you mean is that my mom was poisoned and you don't know the cure and if you don't find the cure my mother will...die?" I ask and he slowly nods his head

"I–I think I need to be alone," I say and go to my bedroom. I pace around the room crying with my hands on my head. I completely lose it and destroy my room as well as hurting myself in the process. I kneel on the floor crying and soon Daniel and Daniella burst through the door and find me crying with bloody hands.

Daniella walks through the broken glass and wood like it's nothing and gives me a hug.

"Mom will be OK. They'll find a cure don't worry." She says trying to comfort me while crying herself.

"I never should have left." I sob. "I let her get sick. It's all my fault!" I cry even louder.

"It's not your fault. You didn't know this would happen. It is not your fault!" Daniella says holding my face. Her eyes are filled with tears but she tries to hide them. I glance over to the door and find everyone else there. Starfire comes and joins in the hug and so does everyone else.

"I'll ask Miss Faragonda if you can stay here tonight." Sapphire offers but I shake my head

"No. I think I need to get far away for a while." I say and leave. I go wash my hands and soon open a portal to Alfea, I enter and find myself in front Miss Faragonda's office. I knock on her door and entered when she said to come in.

"Miss Faragonda, is it OK if I go away for a while?" I ask

"Why of course. I have heard what had happened to your mother and I am very sorry. You may go for one week but one week only." She says. I thank her and exit the school. I don't even need to pack where I'm going. I open a portal and enter, I soon stare at a very large building. I ring the door bell and I stare into the eyes of a tall, beautiful brunette.
