There are three beings with such a power. Myself, you, and the readers. We can rewrite some events, shift things just a little, but it's possible to counter this ability, but it's still useful. It is also possible to change one's own story much more drastically, but that can mess up reality. Hence why refusing to die broke the readers' soul. Anyways, just throwing this out there, if the readers were to manifest themselves as a character to live on after they stop reading, this character would also have this ability.
