As Molly sat in the cellar with her two brothers Zach and Art, she listened to the sounds that she could hear outside. The roaring, rushing sound of the wind and a torrent of rain. Suddenly, there was silence. Molly looked up and across to her brothers and they waited.
Screech!
Molly and her two brothers jumped up and raced up the stairs to get outside. The screech had been from an animal. All three of them were lovers of animals and they couldn’t bear to hear an animal in pain. When they got to the main door, Molly hung back afraid of what she would see. Scientists had been saying for some days that a meteor was going to fly straight past the earth and they advised everyone to stay indoors, in a cellar if possible, because debris was likely to fall to the earth.
Art and Zach had carried on running out of the door, but she hung back. As she took in the sight that met her eyes, she exclaimed in delight; every living thing was covered in a gold light and there was a soft flurry of silvery snow.
She was about to follow her brothers, when she stopped, something had caught her eye. A green frog, sitting on the step had started glowing with a white light and all of a sudden had begun to change. First of all it grew a green bulb onto its back, and then it grew a little bigger. Molly gasped as she recognized a Bulbasaur appearing right in front of her.
“Art, Zach look at this Bulbasaur,” cried Molly.
“No, you come and see this Rattata,” shouted Zach.
“Or this Goldeen” said Art who was standing next to the pond.
“Wait a second guys, what do you think is making them evolve?” asked Molly.
“Do you think it could be the snow?” said Zach.
“If it is, then you two had better get inside quickly. We have no idea if it is only animals or all living things,” Cried Molly.
Art and Zach started running towards the door, but they were too far away. When they got about halfway there, they started to glow and then to change. Zach’s arms started to get pointed and they slowly changed into wings. His legs grew smaller and curved into talons. His face became a lot fatter, whereas his nose suddenly grew longer. Black circles appeared around his eyes, and his whole body was now yellow. Molly gasped as she realized that Zach had changed into a Zapdos. He moved his wings in amazement, and squawked in astonishment as electric sparks came off.
Art, who had been watching him, started glowing as well and he too began to change. His arms also grew longer and turned into wings, but his wings were translucent. His legs and feet grew into talons, and a long sparkling tail emerged from behind him. His eyes turned red and three feathers grew on top of his head. He had evolved into an Articuno.
Molly wondered why she too hadn’t evolved, if her brothers had turned into Articuno and Zapdos, and then she should be a Moltres. She looked up and then understood why; she had been standing under the roof overhang, and so hadn’t been snowed on. She quickly ran out, but it had stopped snowing. She looked around for snow on the ground to pour over her, but it had all melted. She sank to the ground and curled up. She started crying. Tears ran down her cheeks as she thought that she would never hear her two brothers again.
“Molly, don’t cry,” said a voice.
“Who is it? Who speaks?” cried Molly.
“It is I, Zach your brother,” said the voice.
“But you are a Pokémon,” said Molly in confusion.
“Because we are triplets, Art and I have discovered that we can speak to each other and to the other Pokémon as well” said Zach.
