First Chapter,
THE BEGINNING OF THE END:
CharlotteI love my sleep, but who does not? I love that feeling of total calmness when I drift away and fall asleep and I fancy the idea of dreaming, but what I also love are books and that's probably the biggest contrast you can find. So sometimes it happens that I forget every possible sense of time and also my love for sleep and read till late in the night. Last night, until 3:37 frankly speaking and I think I only stopped because I could barely keep my eyes open.
I hate myself for it right now though, its like a bad hangover, the next day you feel like ultimate shit. Especially when its a school day.
And it is a school day. So I lie in my bed, woken up by what felt like a thousand alarms which, in by now, are all put on snooze. I feel like a truck ran me over.
My sister started to blow dry her hair 5 minutes ago so there is also no chance to fall back asleep again, which is good I assume. But I still can't get myself out of bed so I just stare at the ceiling until my last alarm gets off.
I get startled, not by my alarm clock though, but by my twin sister who barges into my room with a look of importance on her face and two dresses in her hands. I watch her as she stands in front of my bed and states "You need to help me."
I sit up a bit, supported on my elbows and a bit surprised that she'd ask for my help. Not that she never asks for my help, she does that plenty, but she holds two dresses and since I can put two and two together, I assume, she wants my opinion on them.
"okay" I say nevertheless, a bit groggily trying to comprehend the situation.
"Which one looks better?" she asks and I snort.
"Didn't you just tell me yesterday that I don't know a single thing about fashion?"
Meredith groans dramatically and rolls her eyes. I look the dresses up and down,
one is blue with a turtleneck and long, the other one is a dark red one, it has long sleeves in satin and a grey pattern on the sides.
"I don't know, the blue one?"
Meredith puckers her lips and then nods quickly.
"You're right, the red one is better."
Then she rushes out of my room just as fast as she entered it, of course without closing the door. I roll my eyes, annoyed.
Sighing I let myself fall into my pillows again closing my eyes, just to hear my alarm clock going off ten seconds later.
"Amazing" I mutter and drag myself out of the bed.
Entering the bathroom and I turn on the shower, I give myself a bit time to look into the mirror, before it fogs and I jump into the shower. Staring back at me is a girl with dark circles under her eyes, very pale skin and dark brown, chest long hair.
I probably would get mistaken with a homeless person, going out like that, I think and pull my grey pj's over my head.
Twenty minutes later I look less than the Grinch and more like the person I identify as. With a pair of skinny jeans and a warm hoodie on, I pull my hair into a bun and put my glasses on. Absently I hum to a Panic! At the Disco song, I always had fancied.
"And truth be told I never was yours, the fear, the fear of falling apart..." I mumble while taking my backpack and turning off the lights in my room. Closing the door behind me I enter the the kitchen of the four bedroom flat in which my family lives in.
