"Frecklepaw! Frecklepaw! Frecklepaw!" The Clan cheered. ThunderClan seemed at peace. Grief was harsh as well as leaf-bare. Thistlestar lost his last lives to nasty bouts of Greencough, and Cinderstar was a fine leader. Flintmint had his apprentice at last, a loner who was too lucky. Acorn, a young loner, had become Acornpaw. His thick, brown pelt was odd, and so was his face that seemed pushed in.
Frecklepaw bounded to Thrushpelt. He touched noses with her, happy to finally have an apprentice again. It had been seasons..
Frecklepaw was a pretty, slender she cat. She had a light ginger-cream mixed color coat, with darker dappled flecks on her back and face, which got her named Frecklekit.
She brushes against him, and he felt guilty. A feeling was deep inside him, something he had with.. no.. I had this feeling with Bluefur.. then Robinwing! Oh StarClan.. he forced a purr, and they padded out together, pelts brushing.
"Lets explore the territory!" She meowed excitedly. If she did have any feelings for him, it didn't show.
"Slow down." He growled curtly. She stopped and flattened her ears, bristling.
"Okay! Who died and made you leader.." she growled. "I thought Maplecloud was deputy..."
Thrushpelt felt unwanted rage in his pelt. "That's it! You are on tick duty, I thought you wanted to see the territory but your gonna be stuck in the elders den."
Frecklepaw scowled. "Unfair." She muttered but didn't argue.
Thrushpelt watched the sleek apprentice go, satisfaction welling in his chest.
After what seemed like moons, Frecklepaw emerged from the elders den, looking slightly fragile.
Thrushpelt nosed a water vole towards her. "Eat. You look exhausted." He advised her. She nodded gratefully, and began tearing into the prey.
All of the clan began to settle when Cinderstar began to speak. "The gathering is tonight." She reminded her Clan. "I want Acornpaw, Echosky, Maplecloud, Thrushpelt, Marshpaw, Dappletail and Frecklepaw to come to the gathering." She flicked her tail and went to the den.
Frecklepaw bounced around Thrushpelt excitedly, and he couldn't help but purr. His first gathering was overwhelming, and had startled him. He flicked his ears towards the entrance and they proceeded to follow the patrol to the gathering.

He sniffed, leaving with the gathering patrol. As they made their way to fourtrees, he noticed Frecklepaw wandering. He hissed. "Get back here!" and she did so. They padded into the clearing, and the other three clans had already arrived. Cinderstar jumped up, joining the leaders and Maplecloud joined the deputies. Thrushpelt sat, his pelt ruffled. Echosky, his last daughter, was getting awfully close to a tom from what smelled like RiverClan. He snorted. She'd better not be flirting. But as he looked closer, she seemed uncomfortable and the tom was inching closer. His pelt sagged, and he padded to Echosky and the RiverClan cat.

"Stay away from my daughter, fish-breath." He growled. "Come, Echosky, sit by me and Frecklepaw." he began padding away. He heard Echosky meow a goodbye to the tom, and race after her father.

"I was fine, you know." she snorted. "I don't need you to defend me." she hissed. "I'm not a kit anymore."

Thrushpelt felt a surge of protection. "You'll always be mykit." he started, but was interrupted by a screech from one of the leaders. Raggedstar, the new leader, was tussling with Cinderstar. Thrushpelt raced to the scene, trying to separate them. Everything became chaos, and a fight began. Every cat at the gathering began hissing and clawing at each other. He pounced on Raggedstar.

A hiss came from behind, and he turned, seeing Yellowfang, ShadowClan's medicine cat. She leapt at him, nipping at him viciously, they rolled away, wrestling eachother until Yellowfang had Thrushpelt pinned. She sank her claws into his throat slowly, and he hissed weakly. He gasped as almost all the air escaped his lungs, then the earth went black. He could only faintly hear battle cries, then the desperate sound of Frecklepaw screeching, followed by a grunt from Yellowfang. Blood seeped from his throat, and he opened his eyes slightly. Frecklepaw was licking his neck vigorously. In mid-lick, Yellowfang leapt at Frecklepaw, killing her easily. He tried to screech, but nothing came out. He began to panic. He couldn't breathe. Yellowfang hovered over him. "You honestly think I would let you kill Raggedstar?" she laughed. "Think again."

And as quick as a hair, she swiped her claws at his throat, killing Thrushpelt.
