Gerard smiled and looked at the ground. Last time he felt this way about someone was like 2 years ago, and he regretted it ever since. 2 years ago he had his heart broken by the girl he loved. He still doesn't know how someone could just do that so easily and leave without a trace.
He began putting the atari machine away when Ash, the creepy gay asian guy came in and started flirting with Gerard.
"Ugh, did you see the guy from earlier? Full of tats, he looked so nastyyyy" He said, dragging out the 'y'. Gerard groaned.
"Yes, yes I did, and I think he looked great, actually." Gerard responded as he put the atari machine away.
"I could tell, y'all seemed to get along just fine. What's the difference between me and him? And I thought you were straight."
"Well, he's not a judgmental fag. That's one thing, I think. I would name several others but I really don't like talking to people who aren't engaging and interesting, another one of his traits."
Ash huffed and sucked his teeth, glaring at Gerard. Ever since Gerard started working with him, Ash has tried countless times to bed him. Ash knew he wasn't straight, because he'd never met a straight man as sassy and feminine as Gerard.
"I could top him so easily. His cute lil fairy, red headed ass. Bet you that tatted dude can't even fuck right. He looked straight anyways." Ash thought to himself as Gerard bent down to put the game in the cabinet.
He wanted to go right over and grab his ass, but Ash didn't want to get fired, so he just sat back and enjoyed the view until Gerard grabbed his jean jacket and left the back room.
"Ugh, what a fucking loser. Like I'd ever fuck someone as condescending as him anyways." Gerard said to himself as he unlocked the car door. He slid in and sighed as he searched the Saves The Day cd, slipping it into the reader and skimming for "Cars and Calories", his favorite song at the moment.
He hummed and tapped the steering wheel as he sang along. The windows were open and he let the wind run through his electric red hair, which he decided this morning definitely needed a touch up on the roots.
He remembered that and decided that he should drive to the beauty supply, to hopefully buy more of the color he used. Naturally, his hair is a light brown, so he doesn't need to use a bleach and ruin his hair even further.
Was the beauty store even open at this time? This he didn't know, so he just went with it and decided that if it wasn't he would just eat at the InandOut Burger place right next to it.
Gerard's life had become very settled during the last two months. He stopped going out when unnecessary, all his meals could either be heated up in the microwave or thawed, and the only thing he was able to change was his hair and underwear.Which, he hadn't washed in about a week.
When he arrived at Betty's Beauty Supply, he was relieved to learn that they were still open for another hour. The woman at the cash register was on the phone, arguing with someone.
Gerard paid no mind and just went to the aisle to purchase his red hair dye.
When it was time for him to pay, he pulled a crumpled $50 bill out of his pocket. He wasn't poor, which is why women always tended to want to use him for his money. He wouldn't be this way if it wasn't for his father, who had made a living out of socalled "fixing" other people's cars.Truth is, Gerard's father practically rapes the customers wallets.
At least his father isn't too greedy, because every week he sends Gerard a check for $1,050.
The lady, even though she was in the middle of an argument, paid Gerard a kind smile as she rang him up. Gerard scratched his chin and smiled back.
"Fuck, I need a shave." He thought to himself as he felt the stubbled down his neck.
If Frank, if at all, had any interest, Gerard didn't know why. He felt (and probably smelled) absolutely horrible.
Actually, Gerard just has extremely low self esteem which he tries so very hard not to show anyone by doing extraordinary things, like dying his hair Ronald McDonald red.Gerard picked his bag off the counter and left as silently as he came. He looked over at the InAndOut Burger sign, but decided not to because his roots aren't done and he needs to shower.
He tossed the bag and had another silent drive home, that was until his phone began to ring, making Gerard almost swerve into the road barriers. "God damn it." he mumbled, picking up his phone.
"What do you want?" He yelled into the phone. His mother tended to call at the absolute worst times.
"OOh, um sorry, it's Frank, is this a bad time?"
Gerard slowly closed his eyes tightly and hit the steering wheel. "God I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else. And no, of course not, I'm usually never doing anything anyways." He replied, laughing sadly.
"Oh, well I was wondering if you'd like to change that and go out for coffee with me tomorrow."
Gerard bit his lip. "Yeah, totally, is uh...10:00 in the morning okay?""Fuck yeah, sorry uh yeah, totally. See you then?" Frank replied. Gerard could hear the smile in Frank's voice, which made his stomach flip.
"Yes, of course you will. Ill text you when I get home, Frank." "Alright, cool Gerard. See ya!"
When Frank hung up, he laid himself against the couch and giggled.
How cute.
