When I woke up I just stayed in bed. Since I couldn’t leave this hell hole for another three days, I might as well sleep until I can. I closed my eyes once again but a knock on my door made them flutter open.

“Leave me alone. Please it’s all I ask.” I muttered from under the covers. The person obviously didn’t listen because my bedroom door swung open and I felt the bed dip.

“C’mon Pez, I don’t want to sit in a house for the next three days. Please can we go out and shop or get a coffee or something?” Jade’s voice rang through the dark room that held many memories. I pulled the duvet from over my face and looked at my best friend.

“I guess we can go out for a coffee. Maybe that will make me feel a bit better.” Jade smiled and I sat up from my laying position.

“Ok hurry and get dressed!” She got up from the bed, leaving me to change in the silent room. I pulled myself out of bed and walked over to my suitcase that was thrown on the floor, clothes messily hanging out of the sides. Grabbing a fresh pair of undergarment, a pair of skinny jeans, and a maroon sweater, I dragged my feet while walking to the bathroom. I lazily pulled the clothes onto my body and walked over to the sink to brush my teeth and do something with my messy hair.

Once I was ready, I walked down the steps and grabbed Jade by her arm, who was sitting on the couch, and pulled her out the door. I didn’t want to talk to my mother because I was still furious with her.

“Okay, let’s go get a coffee. The sooner we get it, the sooner I can get back to bed.” I sat in my old red mini cooper and clipped the seatbelt across my chest and started the car. Jade’s stare could be felt from right next to me.

“Perrie Edwards. Why are you being such a fucking buzzkill? Ever since we went to that party the other night, you have been moody and miserable and I can’t deal anymore.” I turned to look at her to see that she looked very upset. Since I had nothing to say, she continued to talk. “I know that you’re upset because you seen Zayn again, but still Pez, you’re supposed to be enjoying this mini holiday. You’re being a downer and making it suck for everyone else. Who fucking cares if he left you? You moved on to better things, so don’t let one encounter with him ruin your stay.”

“Yeah, well when he tells you that he’s not good enough or anyone and then you see him with another girl, that fucking hurts. I just wish he would get over himself and become a better man. He’ll never change Jade and it blows.” I didn’t even notice that I almost passed the closest coffee shoppe. I drove into the small parking lot that was across from the corner building and pulled my car into one of the last spots. We got out of the car and shuffled over to our destination.

The beautiful aroma of coffee and lattes wafted around Jade and I as we walked into the café. I instantly felt a weight lifted off of my shoulders, knowing that I was going to get some coffee in my system. Never did I think that I would be addicted to such an amazing drink.

“What are you getting? The usual, Christmas roast with cream and extra sugar?” Jade asked and I nodded. Damn she knows me so well. We walked up to the counter since there was no one in queue and waited to have our orders taken. I was too busy looking up at the new featured items on the board hanging from the ceiling when I heard Jade give our order. When I looked towards Jade, something in her face showed that I wasn’t going to like whatever she just saw.

“Ok so here are your two Christmas roast with cream and extra sugar.” I knew that accent from anywhere. Looking up, my eyes made contact with the golden brown ones that belonged to the olive skinned boy that once belonged to me. My heart began to race and I knew that I needed to get out of there. Grabbing my drink I turned on my heels and walked towards the door.

“Perrie!” I heard my name as I walked out of the café’s door. Stopping wasn’t an option, so I continued to walk in a beeline to my car. When I reached my car I heard footsteps coming towards me. I knew it was Jade so I didn’t even turn around.

“Just get the in the fucking car jade, I want to go home.” I went to open the door when a hand grabbed my arm.

“Please talk to me Perrie.” I instantly twisted to see him standing behind me.

“There’s nothing to talk about Zayn. You already made yourself clear, you couldn’t take it anymore and you had more important things to worry about. Our relationship was a fucking joke to you.” I felt tears building up in my eyes, but I couldn’t let them fall.

“Please just talk to me? I don’t want to be the reason why you hate this town. No, I don’t want to be the reason that you’re broken anymore.” I just stood there and looked at him.

“Please Pez, talk to me…”
