It was redemption she was looking for
Beneath a million little lights
Scattered across a southern sky
If the Heavens wouldn't open
And wash away her sins
A previous life, lived on the edge
Of destruction
Running from love
Straight into the wanting arms of heartbreak
She was going to start afresh
In the ice cold waters
Cleansed of all her mistakes
Forgotten names and faces
In the morning haze of regret
Secret habits to ease her mind
Slipping off her black dress upon her new found Holy Ground
She bathed her broken soul in the moonlight
Her eyes scanning over him
As he slipped out of his jeans
Unbuttoned his shirt
Standing there as exposed as her
She knew she had found what she was looking for
Redemption came with the stars in his eyes
As together
Hand in hand
They washed away their past
