First I'd...uh...I'd like to explain that the only language I'm fluent in is English...and I know very basic Spanish. So if any of these translations (because they're literal google translations) are incorrect, please tell me!

I strolled casually down the hall leading from the office as though I belonged here. It was just a show of course, they say the more confident you look the less likely people will think you're out of place. I had only just enrolled today, and I had no idea what I was doing. I didn't even know where to start.

I suppose...make friends? But why? Is that really smart? What if they find out? I just...I just need to spread awareness, that's all. But maybe...maybe I could stay here longer? I haven't had contact with anyone in centuries...

With my hands stuffed into my pockets and my hair pushed out of my eyes, I rounded the corner and immediately ran into someone. I hit the ground with a resounding 'thud' and the other person's stuff went flying in a beautiful arc before scattering in the air and covering just about every square inch of the hallway as it landed.

That's...not exactly the kind of contact I had in mind, I thought bitterly as I felt a slight ache from where we collided.

"Schieße!" The other person screeched in German, and when I say screeched I mean screeched. His voice was high pitched in a non-I-haven't-hit-puberty-yet sort of way and he looked up angrily at me, red eyes flashing dangerously. "Wer bist du? Who are you?" He didn't really need to translate for me, seeing as I already know fluent German...and just about every other language known to man-kind(and animal-kind too). It comes with the perk of being me.

My name is Earth. I'm gender fluid, but I typically like to present myself as female. I'm sure that sounds confusing as hell, but to explain it in simple terms, I can change my appearance, gender, and form(from human to animal). Now gender fluid can mean many different things, but I quite literally have no official gender. I do have a gender preference, however, as previously mentioned earlier. Of course, it is to be assumed that I'm not female right now as this very ticked-off German has quite obviously noticed, seeing as he was not hesitating to use extremely vulgar language directed at me. All I could really do was stutter out somewhat incoherent apologies and help him gather up all of his stuff. My first day in this school and I've already made a mess of things, literally.

"I-I'm so sorry. Here, um, is this paper supposed to have coffee stains on it?" I picked up a sullen piece of Chemistry homework that was only halfway done and handed it over to the guy somewhat dejectedly. He eyed the paper for a brief moment before sighing and shaking his head.

"Word of advice, new guy. Don't try to stay up all night and finish Chemistry homework. It just doesn't work, and coffee just makes me tired." Staring unhappily at his paper, he stuffed it into his backpack and crammed the rest of the papers he had picked up immediately after. "Gilbert."

"Huh?" Startled, I looked up at him, half expecting him to still be mad at my running into him.

"I'm Gilbert." Gilbert stood up, winked at me, and started jogging down the hallway to his next class. "Auf Wiedersehen, new kid! I'll see you around!"

"Ah, um, my name isn't 'new kid'! It's-, hell he can't hear me anymore." I muttered the last part as he disappeared around a corner and vanished from my line of sight. The list that was once in my pocket caught my attention as I noticed it on the floor right next to me. I picked it up and quickly scanned it over.
