Monday, everyone was calmed down from the party. Some people had their own parties at different houses, so some were still hung over. It was kind of funny to watch other people attempt school while having a hangover. They had their hoods up, shades on, shoulders hunched. Knowing Marcus though, he'd give everyone with a hangover a hangover cure so that everyone would be normal before second period.
Marcus came up to me and smirked at me. "How ya feelin', Danes?"
I laughed and shook my head. "Just fine, Falls. How did it go with Kylie?"
He almost doubled over in laughter. "That never happened. It actually made her mad. Oh well."
"So I assume there will be another party this Friday?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I'll double check to see if my mom's home or not," he said.
I grabbed my books from my locker and closed it. Suddenly, I felt my books being snatched from my hands and my jaw dropped as I looked at Marcus, holding my books in the air with a mischievous look on his face.
"Want 'em? Get 'em," he challenged.
I jumped to get my books, but he moved his hands so now he had my books behind his back. I went around to his back and he had them in his front, so it was constant circling game. Finally, I managed to grasp my books tightly and yank them from his hands.
"Ha!" I pulled my books to my chest. "I got them!"
"Yeah after five minutes!" He laughed.
I sighed and shook my head. "You're impossible."
"Maybe," he shrugged, folding his arms, and leaning against the locker next to mine.
"Hey, where are Emily, Jen, Mike, and Scott?" I suddenly asked, looking around.
His face scrunched in realization and confusion. "I'm not sure."
When I couldn't spot them, I shrugged giving up. They were probably finally telling each other how they felt.
Before anything else could be said, the bell rang and we went to our classes.
All throughout the day, Emily and Jen looked ready to burst. They were good at keeping secrets for the most part, but when it was something that excited them, they wanted to let me in on it. When I asked, they just laughed and said nothing. Clearly lying, but I just went with it, deciding they'd tell me soon enough.
At lunch, the six of us sat together and Kylie just glared at Marcus, but since his back was to her, he didn't know. I rolled my eyes and took Mike's apple.
"Hey!" He yelled.
"Like you ever eat healthy?" I challenged with a laugh.
"Still could've asked," he said.
"Okay. I'm taking your apple, cool?" I held back a laugh as I held up his apple.
He gave me a look but we all just laughed about it. This was how we joked with each other.
"Hey, Marcus, what are we doin Friday night?" Scott asked.
"I don't know, what do y'all wanna do?" He shrugged.
Mike and Scott gave each other mischievous smirks and shook their heads at Marcus.
Mike and Scott were acting like Emily and Jen. What were these people plotting? Like seriously, why didn't they just spill whatever was on their mind?
"Hey," Ethan came up to me.
"Hey," I replied.
"Have a good rest of your weekend?" He asked.
I nodded. "You?"
"Yeah, except—"
Uh oh.
"—we should've hung out more. What do ya say? Tonight after school?"
No.
"She can't," Emily joined in. "See you later, Ethan."
"Oh, okay. See you," he said, walking off.
"Thanks for saving me," I chuckled.
"No you really can't," she chuckled.
"And why not?" I questioned.
The bell rang and I huffed as we dispersed to class.
After school, Emily, Jen, and I were at my house watching TV and doing homework when Jen spoke up.
"So, guess what?" She chirped.
"What?" I asked, not looking away from my science work.
"Emily and I had the idea to help you out with your dating game," she said.
I looked at them dumbfounded. "What?"
"Friday night, you have a blind date!" Emily chirped.
"What?! No! Why?!" I snapped.
"Oh, come on! Live a little!" Emily laughed.
I put my hand on my forehead and shook my head. Sighing, I ran my hand through my hair. "Do I at least know them?"
"Yes," Emily nodded.
"Oh God," I panicked. "It's not Ethan, is it?"
"If we told you who it was, then it wouldn't be a blind date," Jen shrugged.
"Does he know it's me?" I asked.
"No," Emily said.
"Does he know he has a blind date?" I asked.
"Yes," Emily said after thinking for a second.
"You're gonna have so much fun. We're gonna drop you off, and if it sucks, text us, we'll come get you. But if it goes well, you can decide on if he takes you home or not," Jen chuckled.
"I'm so nervous," I laughed, shaking my head. "What if he ditches me when he realizes it's me? How will I even know it's him?"
"Let us handle that and he won't ditch you," Emily laughed.
I sighed and laid back on my bed.
This better go well or I'm killing them.
Not literally but you get my point.
