Emily, Jen, and I made our way to the boardwalk and met the boys by the entrance. With Marcus, all I could think about was our date and that kiss. He'd unlocked my feelings vault and I couldn't decide if I wanted to lock it back up. It was like every time I reached for the key, I'd drop it.

We said our greetings, got our wristbands, and went on the hunt for our first ride.

"So Ferris Fury or Wipeout?" Mike asked.

"Dude, Wipeout," Marcus chuckled.

"Girls?" Mike looked at us.

"Hey, don't I get a say?" Scott nudged Mike.

"Yeah, that's why I said 'girls?'" He joked.

"What do you say?" Emily asked Mike.

"Wipeout is always a good start," he looked over to the ride.

"Well, then lets go!" Jen chirped, instinctively grabbing Scott's arm and running to the line.

The four of us started laughing and we all got in the line for the Wipeout ride. Marcus and I were constantly standing next to each other, but no moves had been made just yet. He seemed happy and occasionally threw a smile at me, but I didn't know what he was thinking and I ached to know.

"You okay?" I asked Marcus as we stood in the line and the other four were talking to each other.

"Yeah, why?" He asked.

"You've been quiet, is all," I shrugged.

"Nah, I'm good. Are you good?" He asked.

"I'm great," I said with a smile.

"Look, Erin—" he said, facing me and placing a hand on my arm.

An annoying voice cut our conversation off first.

"Excuse me, hey!" Kylie pushed through the line and grabbed Marcus's arm that was holding mine. "Where were you? We were supposed to meet like an hour ago!"

The other four looked over and were ready to make her leave, but Marcus held a hand up, indicating for them to stand back. "No we weren't," he told her.

"Yeah, we were," she said, slipping her hand under his shirt.

He pushed her back lightly. "I'm trying to have fun with my friends. Why don't you go find some other boy toy?"

She fake pouted and crossed her arms.

Emily locked eyes with him and mouthed "Claim your man, girl."

"Come on, babe—" she started.

"He's not your babe, Kylie. He tried to let you down nicely, but you won't go away. He's not into you," I told her.

She turned her attention to me and that's when we were all able to go on the ride and the guy working it, shut the gate on her so she couldn't get on. Emily, Mike, Jen, and Scott all sat together and Marcus and I had to sit in a different part of the ride.

As we buckled up, he said, "Thanks."

"No problem. She drives me nuts," I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, me too," he chuckled.

As we waited for the guy to come check the seatbelt and bars, I looked at him. "Okay, I have to ask you something."

"Shoot," he shrugged and looked at me.

"Why did you kiss me?" I asked.

He looked at me for a minute, the guy made sure we were secure, walked off and he looked at me again. I went to ask again, but before I could, he lightly grabbed my chin and kissed me again.

I chuckled underneath the kiss and he pulled away with a smirk.

"You didn't answer my question," I whispered.

"Oh," he said as the ride started. "But I did."

What?

After the ride, the six of us went on a few more rides before grabbing some ice cream from the ice cream stand.

"So everyone wants to know," Mike said as we found a bench to sit on. "You two a thing or what?"

"When we know, so will you," Marcus answered.

He was the most confusing guy...

"Well, we set y'all up, so we'd like to be kept in the loop," Scott chuckled.

I swear my face was so red, I was grateful it was getting dark.

"Well how about we go talk it out and you four have fun?" Marcus asked without really giving them a chance to answer, because he pulled me away from the group to another bench.

"Okay, so what's going on?" I laughed.

"Well," he looked at me. "I like you. I really do, Erin, but I know there's a lot I don't know about you and there's a lot about me you don't know."

"So...?" I asked, confused.

"Wanna just keep it low profile until we know for sure?" He suggested.

"But you kissed me twice. You're still not sure?" I tilted my head.

He took my hand, rubbing the back of it with his thumb. "I just don't want us to lose what we have. Whether we date and break up, or we just forget the date happened."

"Yeah, m-me neither," I shivered as I stared at our hands.

"Erin," he squeezed my hand, making me look at him. "I like you. A lot. That's why I kiss you. Plus, you're good at it."

This time, I kissed him and in my mind, I knew I wanted us to be together. He made me feel good about myself and made me forget all the craziness that was my life. Here was a guy that was cute, hot, funny, smart, caring... And he genuinely wanted me.

And I wanted him too.

"So are you," I said when we pulled away.

"Mmm, you better be careful, Danes," he chuckled. "We may end up ditching the group."

"I'm not afraid of you, Falls," I challenged.

"You asked for it," he yanked me up and drug me along to where their car was in the parking lot. We got in and he just held me and felt around as he kissed me. Nothing happened, but this was almost a release of the sexual tension. It wouldn't be fully released until we actually did it, but still. We were able to just be with each other without all the stares and judgements.

We put our foreheads together and he tugged hair behind my ears. His hands slid down my neck and rested on my shoulders. "I may not know what this is, but I want it."

"Me too," I agreed. "Although, we shouldn't sleep with each other so soon."

"Yeah, completely agree," he said, as he pulled me into his side and I rested my head on his shoulder.

"I like you too, by the way," I said.

"Good," he kissed the top of my head.

What had I gotten myself into?
