The week passed rather quickly with Emily and Jen preparing me for my blind date. All week, I tried to get them to spill on who it was, but they didn't tell me. I kept hoping it wasn't Ethan, because I didn't want to be with him at all. Especially since I knew he was a bad kisser.

"Stop trying to guess who it is," Emily said as she let my hair out of the curling iron.

"The suspense is killing me," I chuckled.

"Well, it'll be over with once you stop stalling and let us get you ready," Jen laughed, doing my mascara.

I sighed, defeated.

"Can y'all at least tell me where we're meeting?" I asked.

Jen looked to Emily, questioningly and Emily sighed. "The diner."

"You two are dolling me up to go to a diner?" I asked.

"That's where you two are meeting," Jen said.

"How will I know which one is him?" I asked.

"He'll be sitting by himself," Emily said.

"And how is he supposed to know it's me?" I asked. "Like what if I get there first?"

"You'd be by yourself," she stated as if it were obvious.

Once my "makeover" was done, I slipped into some jeans, boots, and a sweater since tonight Mother Nature decided to give us a thunderstorm. I didn't like the idea of going out in these conditions, but it wasn't pouring down rain, so it was stable.

Emily and Jen drove me to the diner and I got really nervous. "Guys, maybe we should just go home."

"Come on, Erin," Emily said. "You got this."

"Okay, fine," I shrugged, getting out the car and going inside the diner.

I scanned for a guy sitting by himself that I knew and that's when Marcus Falls looked at me in surprise.

My jaw dropped and I chuckled nervously. "Oh my gosh, are they nuts? Are you here on a blind date too?"

"You're the mystery girl?" He chuckled.

"Oh, wow," I put my face in my hands. "This is completely embarrassing. You absolutely do not have to stay here—"

"Why not?" He shrugged.

That took me by surprise. "Because it's me. I'm giving you an out, so no hard feelings."

"I know it's you. We're both here," he said, opening my chair for me. "Might as well see what happens."

"O-okay then," I said, my head spinning as I sat down. "So I didn't realize Marcus Falls went on dates."

He laughed as he sat across from me. "Same to you."

"What can I get you two to drink?" The waitress came up to us.

"Vanilla milkshake," he said and looked to me. "What about you?"

"Water's fine," I laughed nervously.

"Get her a chocolate milkshake too," he added and I laughed and shook my head.

The waitress found the humor in it too, because she jotted it down and walked off.

"Why did you do that? What if I was lactose intolerant?" I challenged.

"I know you're not because you had ice cream at Mike's birthday party two months ago," he said.

"So..." I said. "What do we do now?"
